This was our first trip to Milan and our accommodation at The Westin Palace Milan did not disappoint. The hotel is close to the Repubblica Metro which allowed us to get to most of the tourist spots fairly easily. The area felt safe and we were comfortable walking around throughout the day and night. Service was top notch and we would highly recommend the Westin Palace Milan.

Check-in/Check-out: Very efficient and seamless. We had requested an early check-in and unfortunately our room was not ready. The front desk went above and beyond and were very accommodating in letting us use a room to freshen up. It was the little things that made our stay at the Westin Palace Milan so memorable.

Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping and turn-down service were very thorough and efficient and did an amazing job keeping our Nespresso stocked with capsules and replenished our bottles of water. I had used the Bonvoy app to request toiletries or additional towels and housekeeping were very professional in meeting our requests.

Breakfast: We opted for the buffet and there was excellent variety ranging from amazing pastries, hot food and cold cuts.

Room: We were upgraded to a lovely suite which was amazing. The room has a nice palatial feel to it, lovely art deco, with wonderful bath amenities, lots of storage space and a hand steamer in lieu of an iron. The bar fridge was also stocked with drinks which were included in our room rate.

We had a one-night amazing stay at The Westin Palace Milano. We had for our family two interconnecting rooms; one double connected to one suite which was very practical for our family’s needs.
From the check in the car parking and porter services were efficient. I felt back for the check in agent, Moustafa, as he was alone with quite a wait of people. However, at the desk Moustafa was extremely professional and very proactive.
The highlight of our 6th floor rooms was the suite with the steam bath. This was an incredible feature to have in a city hotel in the heart of the city. The complimentary mini bar will full of non-alcoholic drinks. The standard double room has adequate storage a business desk and single chair. The acqua di parma arancia di capri toiletries were refreshing. The beds were terrifically comfortable as expected in a Marriott property. Public areas are ground luxurious and immaculately kept. Breakfast was an Italian and international affair with buffet and a la carte options. The pancakes where delicious and served piping hot as was the eggs benedict.
Location is very solid as you really are on the door step of central Milan with great metro connections, close walking distance and taxis always available.
My final compliments goes to Monica at guest services and on the bonvoy app. Simply outstanding and atrue professiona. Monica answered all questions promptly and with true enthusiasm.

This a comfortable classically styled hotel about 10-15 minutes from the city center. As a Marriott Titanium member there was no shortage of hotel options in Milan but I am glad I chose the Westin Palace. The front desk staff and concierge (Antonella, Roberta, Johan) we’re all so friendly and helpful. They even went as far as to call a restaurant we dined at to identify a bottle of wine we loved so my wife and I could purchase some before we left Milan!

I’ve read that some of the rooms are undergoing a refurbishment so I’d try and ask for a renovated room.

The only reason I did not give the hotel 5/5 is that the housekeeping staff were not on their game. We found a used sponge in our room and also had leftover coffee/milk not properly cleared during cleaning.

I dont know from where to begin. My experience is terrible with this hotel overall. I am a bonvoy member but from today onwards, i will have to reevaluate any stays at Bonvoy hotels. First, the room toilets is extremely not the same one with the pictures when we booked. Providing false and misleading photos which will tackle a credibility matter in here. After fight، they moved us to another room with a good size and toilet size. Now another story begins with the very bad AC which is not functioning properly. Toilet sinks were blocked for almost 2days. House keeping dont change the bed sheets and clean the glasses. I have kept a glasses outside of the room after i lost hope they would take it. Funny part that i checked out after 3 days and it was still kept same place. Sanitary items were never replaced or replnished every day. Coffee capsules and water bottles 2 every 2 days which never happened and had to call to get water. I took a room with breakfast but the offered buffet is full of Ham and pork and with all due respect to all races, we dont eat pork. Any item ordered from the menu under charge. Overall, this experience is simply a nightmare and i would never go to hotel in europe blindly without doing my homework as good quality doesn't come standard with big names always.

Dear Abdallah Hamed, Thank you for letting us know about your experience at our hotel, we are genuinely sorry to know that it was not satisfactory. We will follow up internally about the housekeeping issues you mention, we are fully aware that a clean room and prompt service are the basis of good hospitality and regret that you feel they were not provided. Our hotel caters to guests from all over the world and our breakfast buffet reflects this, with ample choices for everyone as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options. While traditional Italian cold cuts often feature pork, several other options are available on the buffet. Photos and information on our hotel website are representative of the different room categories available at the hotel. With the hotel being located in an older building, rooms are not identical though features are consistent within the categories. We remain at your disposal for any follow up should you wish to contact us with your reservation information. With kind regards, Alessandra Pagano General Manager The Westin Palace Milan

Avoid this hotel. Absolutely poorly looked after with mould growing around the bath tubs, lights flickering in the room etc. These are basic stuff a hotel should be maintaining and checking before giving a room a to a guest. The room which was given to us the bathtub had mould growing around in the silicone around the bathtub and the room was generally not clean. I would definitely recommend staying elsewhere. The room cards don’t seem to ever work and lifts to the rooms are only big enough to fit 2, thus having to keep waiting for a lift. Also you won’t ever get through to reception as no one ever answers the phone. This is no 5* Hotel.

The biggest problem is the room door don’t close unless it’s slammed shut. We have noticed this with other rooms being left open as no one would just leave their room open. We went out all day from 11am and arrived back at 10pm to our room door being open and in that time the cleaner had been in our room as our room was cleaned. We don’t blame the cleaner but the hotel as a whole. They should be sorting these problems out as I don’t know how long our room had been left open. STAY ELSEWHERE as we don’t feel safe knowing our room door was left open after the cleaner had been inside.

We have just got back from a 3 night stay at the Westin Palace. We stayed with 2 teenage boys and we had interconnecting rooms, which worked out perfectly. Our room was very large and the beds were really comfortable. The hotel bar and lobby were beautifully decorated and we enjoyed a few evening drinks in the bar. We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant but we did have breakfast on 2 of the 3 days, which was nice, albeit expensive and not included in our room price ( because of the rate we were on). The loveliest thing about the hotel is the staff. I have no idea why some other reviews mention rude staff. That was not our experience at all. In fact, the staff bent over backwards to be helpful. Particular mention to Luca at check-in who was incredibly helpful and polite, especially as we checked in quite late at night. The location of the hotel was great. It is right by a metro stop, not far at all from the central station and it only took us about 25/30 mins to get to Linate in a taxi. All in all a good stay and good service.

Stayed here as it was priced the same as most hotels in the area. Great room, fantastic service. Was only in Milan for 36 hours and the trip was all the better for staying at the wonderful hotel. Will definitely be back. The breakfast was self service but you can order something specific if nothing takes your fancy. Staff were amazing too.

The hotel is great, provides all comfort and services required from a five star hotel.

Although I am usually more keen on modern designs, I found this hotel with its Christmas Eve decor fabulous, and even found much more warmness than I would have found elsewhere. It is well located and the staff was great, there’s nothing we could need they would not strive to do or bring.

Also, I found the grand luxe room to be as advantageous as a suite. I will always remember this hotel as one of the most « comfy » and best I have been to (compared to other Marriott 5 stars, Marquis or JW).

Of course, the breakfast room is not of the greatest layout (buffet is great but the European capitals and main cities layout makes it difficult to have more room for better seating. Room breakfast might be a better option for some who prefer different layouts.

The room service staff is great and it never took time to have our meals.

Just as in all Marriott hotels visited (aside of some restaurants sometimes), it was to American standards, and I felt comfortable without having to behave or dress up in ultra chic garment to feel well. What else would we want or need, when taking a few days leave?

Thanks also to all reception staff. Although we did not talk much, I felt they were great: awesome looking near all these Christmas decors, simple and smiling. They have to know that is not always the case, and they can be proud of this: I visited many countries and overwhelming locations, so I can say that I really can compare. They deserve our congratulations for this Italian hospitality.

The experience was horrible start to finish. I work for the hotels industry and we pride ourselves in offering a remarkable experience to our guests, sadly this was not one of them.

Check in
This was long, receptionist never gave a warm welcome, just tapped away at her screen the whole time. No info was given about the hotel, breakfast times etc.
When we got to the room, we didn't know how to connect to the WiFi, we asked them twice by calling they said they'd send someone and never did.

The room
Very basic, some lights were not working as bulbs had gone. Room definitely didn't look like the photos and I paid more for a superior. I asked for them to make it special for my hubby's birthday and just got a measly cake and westin balloon.
There was no bloody tea making facilities in the room! Our TV didn't connect to anything. Bathroom looked old and very tired. Also one gown, one pair of slippers for two people

Breakfast
The worst hapless breakfast I've ever seen. Just such a poor collection of terrible hard pastries, sloppy scrambled eggs, disgusting sausages, etc just slop. Waiters never remember anything you tell them. We were never told we could order omlettes or fried eggs in fact no one knew until I asked if we could order a la carte as the food was so bad

Dinner at pan evo
Staff unwelcoming, no smiles, scripted.
Atmosphere was dull, food basic for the price you pay, not worth it.
Terrace down stairs is in the sun all day so you can't even sit and have a drink, outdoor space are very limited.

Smells
Outside I got horrible smells every time I tried to relax for a couple of minutes
The absolute worst was the smells in the corridor every single night when we went to our room. Smelt like a greasy hot dog stand was disgusting made me sick every single night.

Lounge bar
We had quite a few drinks, I get the prices we pay are premium but 10 euros for a Pepsi max, are you kidding????? And with the crappy service to go with it.

Absolutely no staff were smiling or approachable in this hotel.

Check out
Waited for 15mins in line until I asked for a 3rd member of staff to come as the queue was massive. Took then a further 15mins to check me out as he asked for the money to be paid and then the bill printed at the end, pathetic. There again there was nothing, thank you for staying, would you like a taxi, is there anything we can do? The guy who was behind me in the queue also told me how he felt treated so badly there. And how rubbish the whole experience start to finish was.

Shame on you marriot! I paid over 1600 euros for a 4 night stay which was totally not worth it, will never stay again

This is a luxury hotel and not your usual Marriott business hotel. Our room was ornate, roomy and with the first really comfortable beds in all of Italy I had. They go out of their way to service you from checking in to the lounge bar service to their concierge services. As I noted the location is great for catching the train or to walk to the Duomo (about 20 minute walk) or to hit the main "fashion" shopping streets of Milan. The only down side I can think of is that the restaurant menu is not great and I would advise going elsewhere, especially with all the choices Milan offers.

Yes, you can walk to a lot of shops and restaurants. It is an easy walk to Duomo and other areas as well. The concierge was very helpful to find restaurants in the area. Also, for other areas taxi is available and not very expensive. We mostly walked however.
