The hotel is an old building, interrior is not modern, some of the rooms use shared WC and shower ,tv is very small. But it is really clean and solid hotel, staff is friendly and always helps you in everything. Wifi works well and fast, but depends on the rooms, in the corner rooms connection is poor. The location of... More

Came to Milan for the F1 in Monza. We wanted to see Milan so chose to stay central. Hotel is in a great location, very central. I have paid a lot less for a hostel and enjoyed that more. We requested a large bed, and got 2 singles joined together. I am 5ft 10 and about 78kgs and felt like... More

It is important to ask why one is going to Milan. If it is to relax in a luxurious room, this is not a good choice. If it is primarily for an activity that will keep one out of the room most of the day----business, tourism, etc---then it is a good value. Room 52 was high enough up--third floor--to get... More

I live in Mantua but needed to find an inexpensive place to stay with my friend who was flying in to visit Italy, starting in Milan. We planned to walk around the center for a day and then move on. Hotel London fit the bill. Usually I stay in hostels on the cheap, but for the beginning of our vacation... More

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I recently spent 2 nights at the London on a whirlwind visit to Milan. I guess the title sums up our experience. The hotel is on a quiet street 1 block from Via Dante, one of the key pedestrian streets for dining and shopping, and 2 blocks from the Duomo and the... More

It would seem unfair to let one's experience of Milan cloud judgements of just one hotel, but let's start with the city, just to put things in perspective and allow me to have a good ol' rant. The London Hotel is a diddy little place in the centre of a very large city - a city which rushes by you... More

The location of the London Hotel is great! It is near Via Dante, close to major sites (e.g. Duomo, La Scala, and Sforza Castle) and good restaurants are within a 10-15 walk (avoid the restaurants on Via Dante. It is a very short walk to the Cairoli metro stop and about a 10 minute walk to the Cardorna Metro station... More

The hotel is a €10 cab from Milano centrale where your airport bus or train disembarks. The hotel has an easy check in process and allows you to leave your bags there, they also do their best to accommodate early check-in, in our case, availing is of our room 2 hrs prior to check in time, though we opted to... When we arrived, a lady who only spoke Italian checked us in, but we had no problem. When we left for the day ( we had to turn our key in) I believe it may have been her daughter or some relative who spoke with us and she did speak English. The staff there is very friendly and the rooms are... More

London is quite a sweet little hotel. Of course, it's dated and not very cool and the bathroom door has a strong dislike for human legs. But other than that, only good things. The hotel is on a budget. It's very clean and well organised (I have never seen so many coat hangers in a hotel before). The room was... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
