This place is recommended by Rick Steves as a budget option, and I think pretty much hits on the nail on the head. It is basic, but clean. It's a bit hard to find on arrival, but once you've figure it out, the location is pretty convenient even if the path the to place is a bit tortuous. The breakfast...

Old rooms, old decoration, no additional value. The bed, however, is comfortable. The room was clean, although pretty old. The breakfast is very basic, nothing of value, and the staff barely spoke a word of English.

Situated in a very narrow street, which has unexpectedly a lot of cars going through it. The garbage truck comes every night to empty the garbage and tends to wake you up if your room overlooks the street. Otherwise not much bothered by the street noise. Situated within 6 minutes walk of nearest Metro Cordusio and 10 minutes from Duomo....

All in all, this was a decent find in a very, very busy and crowded city! The rooms are not big, the quality of the plumbing in the bathroom a bit eccentric, but the AC and Wi-Fi were great, we slept well, the lift was adequate, and the daily breakfast was tasty and sufficient for a long day of sightseeing....

Stayed here this week 3 nights very comfortable hotel, central for sightseeing and lots of restaurants close by. Being directly on the road a little bit noisy on Friday night but not too bad, other nights were OK. Would recommend this hotel for a weekend break, or longer I stayed Wednesday to Saturday

We stayed 4 nights. Pros: Clean room Great location Fresh croissants and coffee Cons: Dated interior Shabby doors and beds Small (but sufficient) choice in breakfast Staff could be friendlier but are helpful Limited number of electric plugs Conclusion Good hotel if you don't mind the cons and just want a place to sleep.

Kind staff, mainly an Egyptian young man in the reception, good breakfast, thorough cleaning, handy elevator. A calm place, comfortable bed, a convenient tub, bidet , plenty of towels for every use. In addition air conditioning (cold/ warm). But TV only talked in Italian..

We could easily walk to the Duomo, the castle, metro and train station to the airport. Room was clean, bed comfortable. We did not have any view from our room but we did not spend a lot of time there. Tiny bathroom. Accommodating staff. Great restaurant next door! Would stay again.

After reading the reviews prior to arrival, I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel. But this hotel is stunning for its price. Neat, well presented interior and everything was clean with no musty/weird smells. I requested a room with lots of sunlight and got a room that had a balcony! The bathroom is sufficient in size and the shower...

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
