Stayed for a business trip for 1 night. It was OK but, for the price, was pretty disappointing. Room looks fancy but it just a bit a irritating (curtains close with a slow electric button; I'm capable of closing my own curtains. Also don't need a big leaf in my sink and wish the subtle lighting actually allowed me to...

The Gray Hotel, Milano: NEVER Stay there Date: 15 February 2008 Reviewer: A TripAdvisor Member, Moscow Russia I have chosen to stay at the Gray Hotel Milano during my business trip to Milan (what a mistake!). One good thing (and the only one) about this hotel is location - close to Duomo, shopping etc. The rest is just absolutely terrible....

The good: the location is fantastic, literally a few steps from the Duomo, any closer to the Duomo you would be inside it. The (small) lobby looks good. The staff are courteous and smiling, if not exactly falling over themselves to help customers. The room was very clean. The bad: My room had all the gadgets (CD player, DVD player,...

I have stayed in many Milan hotels, and the Gray rates among the best. It is well priced, stylish and comfortable. The location, right next to the Galleria Emmanuele shopping mall, is perfect (the hotel has a stunning suite overlooking interior of the mall itself - worth asking the front desk to show it to you, it's amazing). My room...

I considerd very intensively before I chose this hotel. It looked very stylish on the photos and is situated very central. On arrival we were shocked because the room was very, very small. Furthermore, the heating didn't work and we tried to regulate the ac, but it didn-t work. At the reception we were told that the ac can only...

Is this a nice hotel.....? Sure it is. But when your paying 440 Euro's a night I'd expect a bit more service than what were were given at the Gray Hotel. One certain receptionist behind the counter was exceptionally rude the whole 4 days we were there. It was an inconvenience to call a taxi, she actually tapped her foot...

I desperately wanted to love this hotel, being a fan of chic, hip hotels but this let me down in many areas. The location is indeed superb just minutes away from il Duomo but along with the central location comes noise. Not just normal chattering, chuck out time noise from people - noise from the cleaning teams that clearly make...

I was traveling to Torino, Italy from Los Angeles with my 19-year-old design school student daughter and decided on a three day stop over in Milan. I selected Hotel The Gray for its location and its "Schrageresque" atmosphere in order to appeal to her sensibilites and to my own need for a "bit of fun" in hotel accomodations. The Gray...

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

A gem of a hotel in the heart of Milan, where stunning contemporary design meets sophistication and comfort. The Gray, with just 21 individually decorated rooms, is an intimate property full of style, an d includes an atmospheric restaurant, a cosy bar and bedrooms, some of which have their own private gym. Smart, witty design elements throughout add to the sense of elegance and comfort. Deep chocolate browns contrast with crisp creams, geometric lines are softened by colored lighting effects, while bright colour accents, such as the suspended fuchsia swing in the lobby, enliven the ambience. An afternoon of sightseeing could not be easier as the Duomo is literally at the end of the street and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is in front of the hotel. A five-minute walk takes you to the fashion district around Via Monte Napoleone. Return to the hotel for delicious Mediterranean cuisine in the restaurant before heading to the opera. The Gray is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property. ... more   less
