This hotel was what we needed for 2 nights in Milan. It was clean and near the train station, perfect for us. However the wi-fi connection was poor and the breakfast a little disappointing as there was very little choice and ran out very quickly.
We chose this hotel as it is 10 min walk from milano centrale station and we had to do day trip to venice and florence plus we were flying out of Milan so we booked this hotel

Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the
terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.

There are three options:
1. We walked it took about 20 minutes, check out Google for directions Via Vitruvio runs to the right and parallel to the the front of the Station. There is some pavement work going on last week, but this was not a big issue for us.
2. Taxi The fare to St. Garibaldi (the further away station) was 10 Euro so should be about the same or less. The taxis are metered.
3. Metro - did not use it so can not advice, but others may be able to help, or you can contact the hotel directly, they were very helpful. Just checked the map, and the hotel is half way between metro stops, don't this this is a good option.
I hope this helps.
