The hotel is NOT in Milan. It’s a harrowing 15 minute walk from the last station on one of the Metro lines. The hotel seems to be straight out of a horror movie with dark & dingy exteriors and interiors. The rooms do not have even basic equipment to make coffee/tea. There’s a fridge & locker- both these were not working in our room. There’s no exhaust in the toilet and it ends up smelling really bad. The good thing is that there’s a bidet. There are no glasses in the room or water (I understand that the tap water is good enough to be consumed, but there were no instructions to that effect). We saw several people buying and carrying water from outside. The neighbourhood seemed really shady and unsafe. There’s an abandoned building next door and the rest of the area has residences. It’s a bad experience for a tourist because there are No restaurants or shop nearby at all. Our stay at Milan was good but the hotel was a really low point.…
Firstly, It is not in Milan- Not even close! It is like saying Drogheda is in Dublin, It is a 20 minute walk to get to a tube station that takes about 20 minutes by tube to get to Milan. Secondly IF you are going to Milan, Particularly THIS Hotel Do not, I repeat DO NOT go in August. There is nothing open nearby, No Restuarants, No shops Nothing, My daughter is Autistic and lives mainly on pasta. I'm thinking "Italy=Pasta Right?" WRONG The Restuant in the Hotel is closed for August- Nuts. They had bar food which consisted mainly of Pizza but as I said daughter wanted pasta so I asked reception was there any restuarant nearby. He gave directions to a restuarant which meant we had to go over a railway track, down a dark lane which looked like a dead end 25 minutes later we found the restuarant, which of course would not re-open untl the end of August but of course he knew that. No wonder there were deliveroo drivers arriving with McDonalds and Burger KIng every evening. Hotel? without a Restuarant? more like a HOSTEL…
Best hotel I have stayed in for a long time. The superior deluxe room had everything you needed from a mini bar to a lovely walk in shower. The room was massive and the bed was too. Will definitely stay there again. Great access to trains to the city as well!
Stayed at the hotel da Vinci recently for two nights while on a trip to Milan. Firstly absolutely cannot fault the hotel itself, especially for the price I paid. The reception area is lovely; clean, spacious and nicely decorated, and the staff were very helpful - we are English and unfortunately do not speak Italian, but they were accommodating and did what they could to answer our questions. The rooms are fantastic - they are absolutely ginormous, the biggest bed I have ever slept in and our room had an additional single bed too. The bathroom is nicely decorated and comes with a very large shower, as well as a few lovely smelling toiletries. Both bedroom and bathroom very clean which is always great. We had two great nights sleep! The only downside to the hotel is the area. I knew when booking that it wasn’t in the centre of Milan, and this is fine and was not a problem. But when using the metro line nearby, as we did, it was a 15 minute walk away through a not very pleasant area, particularly in the dark. Thankfully I wasn’t alone, but had I been staying at the da Vinci on my own, I would’ve either ended up staying at the hotel rather than going out, or racking up a lot of taxi/Uber costs getting to and from the metro station to avoid walking. In addition to this, on the site of the hotel, there is what seems to be a large abandoned building, which looks like it was once a hotel. I imagine there is nothing that the da Vinci can do about this, but it is a bit of an eyesore and rather creepy. I would not say this is a positive or a negative to the hotel, but thought it would be worth adding to my review. Overall, our stay and experience in the hotel was pleasant and could not be faulted, it was very reasonably priced and in return we got a lovely and clean room and bathroom. However I probably would not return to the da Vinci as a result of the location. If the whole hotel was picked up and dropped in a better area, it would definitely be a lot more highly priced, and rightly so, and in that case I would for sure stay again. This may not be a problem for other readers, but I felt very uncomfortable and quite unsafe getting to and from the metro station, and so would not feel happy staying here again.…
First of all the hotel is now painted black. IT IS NOT PURPLE. I really liked the black and the inside decor though so this was a plus for us and was nice to see on arrival. This hotel is in a bad location, feels unsafe especially at night. Bear in mind there is a massive abandoned building right next door. It’s a 25 min drive from the centre of Milan and There is nothing close by at all. Although There is a subway a 15 min walk away. So glad we only stayed for a night and was checking out early for the airport. This would be a brilliant hotel if it wasn’t for the area which it is in. Hotel and room itself was nice, Spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Lack of hot drink facilities I.e kettle, tea and coffee. The man that checked us out was very nice & friendly although never got his name.…
Room was absolutely filthy. We found cockroaches three times. The staff were not helpful at all and didn’t care about the state of our room. I am appalled at this. It upset our trip a lot and for that I am so annoyed the staff wouldn’t do anything for us.
Room was dirty and the staff was extremely rude. Location is very far from the city center . We had to stay at this hotel because the hotel that we booked overbooked the rooms and we don’t have a room for the night. We arrived at 3am and the receptionist in the hotel de vincci told us that we must pay the initial rate even though hotel de vincci was much cheaper. When we told the hotel it doesn’t make sense they told us that we are welcome to go to the street. At 3 am.
The hotel itself is contemporary, clean and functional, but bears little resemblance to the picture. Its design means it's noisy in many areas, especially reception and the bizarre choice of music doesn't help; at night it can be a repetitive loop of Ibiza clubbing-type rave music and quite loud. The location is awful. An urban area with condemned buildings and absolutely no restaurants, bars or shops within the vicinity. The Metro is about a ten-minute walk, and it takes you into the centre of Milan. Better than the train station next door. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is a weird, open-plan extension of the restaurant, doesn't have much seating and doesn't have much atmosphere. Beware as you'll get hit for the local tax (15 euros/night). Parking is plentiful and free. I'd only stay here if it's a couple of nights max and you want somewhere convenient to get in & out of Milan.…
This hotel was half finished, we think due to Covid. The room was spacious but unfinished . A watermark around the walls showed how high the flooding had been. Bottoms of doors had lost their veneer and were peeling off because of this. There was one small bottle of body wash for us and the towels looked and felt like second hand dishcloths. The room smelt like drains. No tea or coffee making. There was a wardrobe with one hanger and what looked a mini bar cupboard and drinks cabinets that was half built in and left unfinished. No Table or chairs. Bed had expensive covers and was confortable, This hotel just about rates as two star not four. The international restaurant was boarded up and closed and food could only be obtained in a cocktail bar that sold snacks and burgers. Not many in the bar although it was hard to see as the lights were so low and everything was painted black. It looked rather like a pick up joint but without strippers or poll dancers. Music blaring everwhere and this too was the sort of music that low disco joints have. The breakfast was in the basement and to our surprise was clean and ambient. Service here was excellent and so was the food. We enquired and found that the breakfast was run by another business altogether. Out side was a run down and quite frankly desolute industrial estate and although there was a subway station we would have been frightened to use it such was the desolute potiion especially as there were scrub bushes and rubble all around. We were booked for three nights and stayed one night, hopefully we will get our refund.…
When we arrived at the hotel, I found it very dull. The hotel picture on the web was violet but in reality, everything is black, even the tables, chairs, the employees wearing black. So dull!!! We had a superior room and all we needed was a table and a chair. So, we asked the reception for that, and they replied that we had to wait for the next day to find us another room. When we came back to the hotel we found our luggage in a degraded room, a very old room with out of order air conditioning. When we asked them to repair the air conditioning, they said that it's not possible. So, we called the reception again. After they said that we can move within 10 min, then another guy said that we have to wait for tomorrow. When we complained then we had to come down again and then they gave us another key although we are two of us in the room. They are not helpful at all and I recommend NEVER TO STAY IN THAT HOTEL EVER.…
