Was booked with work. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom pretty good. It is just a very tired hotel that really needs some money spent and updating. If you choose to stay it won’t be a bad experience - but also won’t be amazing.
Nice hotel with nice rooms and staff. Really enjoyed chatting with the hotel staff and really loved Turin. The hotel is very close to lot of cafes and restaurants. The hotel had all the amenities I needed to make the stay here so comfortable!
Housed in a heritage building, this is a unique Best western that feels more like a classic European hotel than a chain hotel. Given the location and the surprising set of amenities the heritage hotel came with at the price I paid, it is a an absolute steal! LOCATION: Excellent location right next to the main train station adn and walkable from all key points of interest. DINE + DRINK: Nice lobby level bar for a chilled out evening drink or later afternoon coffee ROOM: I stayed in Room 222 which was a FAMILY room, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the street and buildings from the BALCONY ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good cosmetics by DOVE brand FACILITIES: Excellent Gym with a full range of weights and Cardio machines - something that is uncommon in a old world hotel like this. No pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the front desk staff HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property(upto 25 Mbps). Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages…
Deceived! Hotel room is small and 80s. Noise from the street and hotel corridor. One of the elevators doesn't feel safe because the floor is flimsy. No breakfast included. Hard to find public parking and private parkings were full on friday night. Central location and clean. Had to buy earplugs.
Splendid Hotel near the Porta Nuova train station. Friendly staff, Beautiful Breakfast. Very easily access 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Carlo and 10 minutes walk from Piazza Castello. We had a room facing the courtyard, very quiet. The room was big and the bathroom was clean. Perfect air conditioning and WiFi. I think it should be more than a 3-star hotel.
A nice place clean rooms cooperative front desk staff delicious breakfast easy to find & access rates reasonable clean location taxis available railway station at few steps with lots of shops cafes restaurants recommended
This is a beautifully decorated hotel near the railway station. It is a short walk to the city center. Breakfast is very good for just 4 euros. The triple room is very comfortable. The room is silent.
For me, a firm mattress makes for a good night's sleep and a good next day. The Genio had good mattresses, the room was large, we had a bathroom with a tub and I loved the fact that the hotel still had some character and hadn't been made over to look like every other hotel everywhere. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was good. Location is convenient to central Turin sights.
Clean and good location, nothing to complain about, would come back again, good value for money and the breakfast was just fine, check in and check out was fast and easy, it looked old from outside but rooms are renovated
Just the one night in a single room here on level 2. My friend and I arrived late morning so were pleasantly surprised to be able to get rooms allocated. However, although large for a single room, as you entered you were met with a distinctive smell, couldn’t quite work it out, but maybe a bit like smoked food that you noticed each time you entered. The bed was firm comfortable but the sheet was ripped under the pillow, the bedding poorly made up and the furnishings all very dated. In addition the toilet seat fixing was broken so appeared in danger of fully detaching. The aircon also seemed to just make a noise rather than push cold air. I therefore had to open the ‘terrace’ door to cool the room down and be able to sleep. On the plus side the water pressure was decent and there were lots of TV channels. The terrace area was a little weird as appeared part of an internal apartment complex. WiFi quality was variable. Other positives were the friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, the cheap but tasty breakfast buffet range and, of course, the hotel’s ideal location to explore the city, probably a 15 minute walk to the Piazza Castillo with a range of shopping and sights en route. The hotel’s common areas were also reasonably comfortable and well maintained, so perhaps it’s only the single rooms on level 2 that are in need of some TLC? …
