excellent value for money. A bit old fashioned decor, but clean otherwise. Very friendly personnel. The room was overheated and not well insulated from the inside noises, but very efficiently shielded from outside noises and very clean.

Looking at the photographs it's clear that the rooms in this hotel vary considerably. We had a smallish modern looking room which was all we needed. Although situated next to a tram line the room was quiet due to the double glazing and roller shutters. Our bathroom was large but had the strangest taps I've ever seen. The hotel is four star rated but I think three would be more realistic and the decent price reflects this. The breakfast which was included was excellent although it's not the sort of thing I would like to contemplate if the hotel were operating at capacity.

Loved my stay. Great location away from the crowds and near the gorgeous Sempione park and several public transportation lines. Room was impeccably clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the perfect start to each day and Tony’s cappuccino was the best in the city.

Nice 3 star hotel within 10 minutes walk to the Porta Nuova train station. Receptionist recommended Trattoria 39 for dinner, which was lovely. Breakfast ok but fruit was tinned.Bed was comfy. Room was clean.

I recently stayed in this fine hotel for 5 nights and was very pleased.
And the price was right at 85 Euros.

I had a nice, clean room with huge windows that open fully allowing lots of fresh air. Comfortable bed. Nice fully-appointed bathroom including hair dryer. Small color TV. Phone. It could be noisy outside, but just close the windows and shutters for a sound-proof experience.
Many of the hotel staff and all front desk staff spoke english.

The room rate included a full breakfast buffet of Italian favorites served by a fun and helpful wait staff. It was an excellent start to each day right in the hotel.

Location was great too. It was only 800m from the train station and much else was within walking distance. Cabs were no problem if going further afield.

All-in-all, highly recommended place to stay on the cheap and still enjoy some nice amenities.

Well situated small Hotel, nice and clean rooms, very good breakfast.
Very friendly staff, check-in/-out within a minute, perfect preparation in advance!
Nice breakfastroom, excellent coffee. Enzo, the charming ‚Master of Breakfast‘ served our cappuccinos within seconds and the next perfectly in time when the cups became empty. We enjoyed our breakfasts very much, thank you again, Enzo.

Another delightful hotel (apart from the steps leading up to the entrance). The décor, lobby and bar furniture defy expectations and categorisation but are definitely not boring! There is a little patio which in May was filled with the smell of jasmine and seemed to belong to somewhere more bohemian.
The rooms are more than adequate for single occupation and, from my brief assessment, seem to be individually decorated so it might be better to check them out. Many have balconies and some have baths. (My room had a bath with a handheld shower so not one that could be stood under. Odd.) Lovely to see tea-making facilities and plentyy of coat-hangers in the wardrobe. It's the little things which make a difference, like the printout of the weather forecast.
Breakfast is plentiful and varied though the area and the tables are more bistro. As others have noted, the staff are wonderful and easily provide a reason to return to the hotel with confidence.

Just returned from a three night stay with my husband at Lancaster Hotel. Room was very clean with ample space. Bathroom large with toiletries (even night cream) Kettle and various herbal teas in room, although I must say that I missed finding coffee. Buffet was nicely prepared in a colourful room with cereal, yogurt, toast, eggs, ham and cheese and various croissants and cakes, jiuces, tea and coffee. You can have capuccino, espresso, americano, etc. Staff helpful. Although not exactly in city centre, with Tram number 4, you can reach the centre within a couple of minutes. Would recommend.

It was perfect for our 3 nights city break,
The Hotel Interior condition was in a very good state...& has very nice standard for a 3star Hotel. Rooms are well kept & very clean with spacious bathrooms...the street rooms might be a bit noisy for some..& the Hotel it`s sitiuated in a residensial area...breakfast was good as well....the normal cold cuts & continental...plus a good selections of sweets....
It`s either 10/15 mins walking to Porta Nuova Train station or Park Valentino near the river Poo....Also It is about 25 mins Walking from the city centre.. but then if you dont like walking tram stops are just outside the hotel....& in less then 8/9mins,6stops with tram number4 you will be in the city centre....

On the negative side:
What we didnt like is that altough we requested a non smoking room.... The Curtains had a strong smell of cigarettes on them....which we had to leave the window open 24/7 during our stay to keep the smell off.
