4 star hotel hidden behind a 3 star ranking. 2 minutes from train station. 7-8 minutes from the Egyptian Museum, 6-7 minutes from Palazzo Real, 11-12 minutes from Movie Museum. Room 272 faces garden. Breakfast was wide variety, typical Italian, coffee from a machine (coffee not so great). Several bar/coffee shops nearby. Room was cold upon check-in (January) but warmed up fine once radiators and ac units turned up. Large bathroom, room well lit, power outlets both sides of the bed. Safe-deposit boxes just off lobby, no room safe. Front desk efficient, friendly. Taxi stand almost in front of hotel. Definite stay-again.
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel as it was very good value. Staff were very friendly and helpful in looking after our bags when we arrived early. Breakfast buffet was excellent and 12noon checkout as standard is a bonus. Great location by the station and within 15 minutes walk of all the main attractions. The hotel is opposite the airport shuttle bus stop. The only minor quibble was our shower was quite compact - we opted for the cheapest room and couldn't really complain otherwise. There was a bit of noise from outside but if you choose to stay in the city centre by the main train station then this is to be expected.
We stayed for 3 nights. Easy transfer from airport. Very welcoming reception. Staff , friendly, attentive, and informative. Bar was cosy and comfortable and drinks very good value. Excellent location, in the heart of the city, next to train , metro, and airport bus stations. We had standard room, which was very clean and comfortable, with front facing view. Bathroom small but adequate. Bright breakfast room, excellent coffee. There wasn’t a huge array of choices, however what was there was very good and more than adequate. Overall thoroughly enjoyed staying in this charming family run hotel. Highly recommended.
I like the location of the hotel. It is very convenient to move around because it is near the Porta Nuovo train station n metro. The airport bus stop on opposite side of the park. Staff are friendly and helpful . Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean
Spacious and clean rooms. Newly renovated bathrooms. Very central location, both for trains and metro and also for attractions. Very varied breakfast buffet with freshly made juices of several flavaours. Attentive and friendly service. No streetnoises even though central location.
This hotel was only two minutes' walk from Turin Porta Nuova station so very convenient. The station has an excellent supermarket, some dining options and many shops. We were quickly checked in by unsmiling female staff. I appreciate it is impossible to smile 24 hours a day and English is not their first language. Room 446 was at one end and apparently one of 15 of the 90 rooms that have not been airconditioned. It was too warm, so I hate to think what it would be like in summer. The aircon for the 75 rooms that have this was switched off according to a staff member. I would prefer to be able to control it myself. The room was attractively appointed with a good desk. Its lamp did not work. There was a heritage chest of drawers and pleasingly a shelf on which to place a suitcase. Another plus was that the quality Queen bed had a top sheet, not just a doona. The room had lovely green carpet and bedside tables with lamps. On two of our four nights, there were noise problems from the 5th floor. The first time this occurred, we thought it was a large rat but worked out it was a dog as in the morning, it barked. It is a cultural thing but I am anti pets in hotels or on public transport. The second time, it sounded like a woman's stilletto heels, lasting until 2200 hours. The bathroom was great as the shower worked without fault. Individual shampoo bottles were supplied. Towels were of excellent quality. The first floor breakfast was very good even though there was only Greek yoghurt. Pastries were fresh and plentiful and four types of juice were on offer. There were coffee machines. The ground floor had a PC for guests' use. Good. One thing I forgot above was that the welcome drink was for one person not two, though it included pistachios, chips and two other snack items. Penny pinching.…
Turin is a beautiful city, and Hotel Roma e Rocca Cavour is a very good hotel.Room was quite spacy,we had a triple room, view from the room not the best, but location of the hotel was very convenient.Walking distance to attractions and shopping.Breakfast was very good,I would say one of the best hotel breakfasts we had.The only minus was that by the time we got there, they run out of parking spaces for guests, and sent us to park at the railway station.I wish this was explained better to us by the hotel, but the parking there is per day,not by hours,so we got slapped with something like 35Euro for a night stay.
This turned out to be one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in in 50 years of travelling in five continents. The suite with its painted ceiling and balcony were delightful. Lovely sized bathroom and super comfortable bed. Perfect location within 100 m of railway terminus, and a short walk from the iconic Via Roma and the colonades and shopping district. Wonderful breakfast and delightful second floor terrace for drinks. Great staff. Almost perfect and at a great price.
Stayed at the Roma e Rocca Cavour as I wanted to be near the station and within easy walking distance of via Roma and Turin's famous Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Madama. Was not disappointed with the hotel at all. An older style hotel the facilities were good. Even though it is located in a busy part of town and there many guests staying the room was very quiet in fact I heard not a sound over three nights I was there. Breakfast which was complimentary was very pleasant particularly if a table was free in the open air section. From 6pm they have a balcony bar open for drinks and aperitifs which was very relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful despite my very poor Italian! I also thought it very good value.
A nice hotel with a rather grand feeling about it. Large rooms, plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Directly across from the train station in downtown Turin, within walking distance of the opera house.
