My rating depends on your purpose. This hotel is clean with good rooms & a decent breakfast. Parking is available on the street (free) or secured parking for a fee. It would be a 4 rating as a business trip hotel and it did seem to have meetings etc. As a tourist , the positives are it is within walking distance to the car museum (which is fabulous, and I'm not a car buff) and about a 5 min walk to the train that goes to Turin city (6 stops). There's also a unique ristorante 'Osteria Fiat' established 1900 worth having dinner , but not many other good food options other than the Eataly nearby. But if you're looking to explore Turin there are many great alternatives within the city that would make for a more convenient stay. To be clear we weren't dissatisfied with the hotel itself but as tourists didn't find it to be ideal in terms of its location.

Our first stop on our Italian trip was at the AC Hotel in Torino. The hotel is near two train stations. Easily found about a half block from a main street we were greeted with by a friendly front desk agent. As Bonvoy Titanium, we were happy to hear that we had been upgraded to a suite. Once in the room, the hotel manager had a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate our anniversary. The suite was spacious with plenty of plugs and USB outlets. Bed was comfortable, housekeeping was daily. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning with hot and cold items, typical of an Italian hotel breakfast. The hotel was in the same complex as Eataly's original location. Many restaurants and shops are nearby. We ate twice at the Italian Seafood Restaurant on the corner...the seafood risotto, pasta and pizza were all quite good. Out time was short in Torino...we'd like to return in the future and will have the AC Hotel at the top of our list.

Very nice and clean hotel, spacious room, good breakfast, however room are not soundproof at all. Great staff, very helpful, I loved the bathroom, comfortable beds, far from any sightseeing , close to Metro which was not functional when I was there, you can take bus no 8 to old town, buy a one day ticket for 4 euro and use any mean of transport all day, better from buying 1.70 euro one way ticket per person. If you don't mind the location then I advise you to book this hotel.

Beautiful building converted in a nice upscale hotel. Very nice, friendly staff that greets you, is willing to help you and provides for every need. Rooms are huge (for Europeans) and the hotel is located very conveniently for shopping and sightseeing. Only downside is the fact that you can hear your upper neighbors in your room.

Excellent location walking distance from the conference centre, Hotel staff friendly & welcoming, room spacious and comfortable, restaurant good selection of dishes including vegetarian options. Good transport links, not too far from city centre, was here on business this time but did manage to fit in a couple of hours sight seeings, lots of history and plenty to do. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Don't expect anything from the front desk when checking into this hotel. When we arrived there was no greeter at the door, so we entered the lobby, fetched our own baggage cart, and wheeled our own stuff in. Not really a big deal, but note-worthy. We wheeled the cart up to our assigned room with no help from the staff. As a lifetime platinum member, I value the breakfast benefit the most. Imagine my surprise when the front desk refused my choice of breakfast! They insisted that THEIR breakfast was special and I had to pay an extra amount if I wanted to take advantage of it! I stressed to them I was platinum but to no avail. Then imagine my surprise when the breakfast was average at best. Upon check out I received an incredibly low number of points for my stay. Overall, this Marriott hotel is really quite poor in value.

Response from Cristian Merletto, Other at AC Hotel by Marriott Torino
Responded Jun 1, 2023
Dear mr Langley, thank you for choosing AC Hotel Torino for your stay and for taking the time to share with us your opinion. Providing the best service is our main goal; we do apologize for not having fulfilled your expectation. I will share your notes with the staff in order to avoid same issues to happen again. Regarding the breakfast, as you are aware, all Marriott brands have different benefits for our value Marriott Bonvoy members. Specifically for AC brand the benefit you can choose from at the arrival, is between bonus points to be charged on your Bonvoy account or a 10$ credit per day to be spent in our F&B outlets, including the breakfast, that has a special cost of Euro 12.00 if confirmed at check in; basically if you choose the credit you can have our breakfast at a very low cost. Regarding the amount of points you get for the stays, also that vary depending on the Brand, and it is not something that the hotel can decide individually. I hope you will chose to stay with us in the future in order to appreciate our real level of service. Best Regards Federico Fusar General Manager

We didn't love this hotel. The staff was excellent: everyone spoke English and was extremely helpful. The breakfast was great - lots of choices and very fresh. The rooms were hot in May with no air conditioning. There were large windows to open but no screens so we did not want to open the windows and let all the bugs in at night. The beds were small and not very comfortable (we had a double). The rooms were very clean and the shower was excellent. The gym was small and the steam room was not working. The restaurant for dinner was a very limited menu. The location is about 45 minutes south of the city center by walking. If you love to walk - this was fine. If you want to be in the city center, stay further north. While it is a pretty hotel, the rooms are not cozy. So, the hotel was certainly fine but we would not stay again.

The lack of urgency, empathy and sense of responsibility shown by the staff of AC Milano was despicable. The nonchalant response from the hotel in the morning of the theft was just shocking! My colleague and I were at the busy buffet breakfast when his briefcase was stolen. In our confusion and panic, he went to the reception to ask for help from the Manager. The other shock is that at 8:45am we were told that there was no manager on duty. And that he will only arrive at 9:30. By 9:45 not a single person from the hotel management nor security came to see my colleague to reassure him or to provide an update. Only advise from the reception is that we needed to go to the police station nearby and that it was a police matter. They refused to show us the footages of the restaurant. As we scrambled to find out the process of reporting from our local office, we waited till 10:10 when we decided to leave. Only when we were in the van that the receptionist came to say the Manager had arrived. And showed the cctv of the incident. We had to rush to make the report, in order to get to the consulate in Milan for further arrangements. Even the advise the Hotel gave was wrong as we found out after going to the local police, that the correct station was in the Turin city centre. Avoid staying there at all cost. I would give this place a zero star if it was an option.

We stayed 2 night at this hotel. The location is quite easy to find if you arrive by car. There is a safe carpark at the hotel with additional charge. If you want to visit the lovely Turin center you can take the metro which is walking distance from the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfy. Downstairs in the lobby is a coffee machine but you can also make coffee in your room. In the morning breakfast is served (buffet style) which has a good choice and you can start your day with great Italian coffee. The staff is also very friendly and the only downside of the hotel was the gym. This was very basic and you simply expect a bit more for a 4 star hotel. Overal the stay was good value for money.

The trip to Europe was to celebrate me and my wife’s 20th wedding anniversary. We came to Torino from Rome. We visited Torino to attend a piano recital by Yunchan Lim who is the winner of the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which was held in Sala 500 in the Lingotto mall. The Lingotto area has 3 hotels in AC Hotel Torino a Marriott Hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton Torino Lingotto and NH Hotel Torino Lingotto Congress. DoubleTree by Hilton Torino Lingotto and NH Hotel Torino Lingotto Congress are inside the Lingotto mall. AC Hotel Torino was a 5 minute walk to the Lingotto mall. I had no hesitation in choosing AC Hotel Torino as it was part of Marriott Hotel Group as I am a big fan of the hotels within the Marriott Hotel Group. I sincerely appreciate Federico Leone, Daniela Russo, Erika Magurno, Igor Vitale and Christian for answering the questions to all my inquiries about the hotel by email before I arrived. We arrived at Torino Porta Nuova station by high speed rail from Rome. From the Porta Nuova station we took a taxi to the hotel and it cost about EURO 10 to arrive at the hotel. Erika Magurno pleasantly welcomed me at the check in counter of the hotel and handled my check in very professionally. I also managed to say hi to Federico Leone who told me the direction to my room. When I entered the room I was delighted to see that my room had been upgraded. I was also flattered by the complimentary amenities in a bottle of champagne, sweets and flower that was provided for our 20th wedding anniversary. I appreciate, Federico Fusaro, Federico Leone, Daniela Russo, Erika Magurno, Igor Vitale and Christian for making this possible. The room was very spacious. The temperature in the room was warm to keep us warm as the weather outside was cold. I also really liked the radiator heater in the shower area. This is because I can simply wash my own clothes and put it on the radiator heater to dry. The clothes dried really quickly. There was also an Iron for us to Iron our clothes. I liked the fact that the room also had many shelves to put our bags and clothes. The bed was comfortable and it seemed to be heated as well to keep us warm when we sleep. We had a good view from our room, which was on the 3rd floor. Room service was quick. The only discomfort was that there was only one slipper in the room. So I had to go to the reception to ask for one. Several points for consideration for the room is that it would be better if you put more towels in the room. Other hotels we stayed in Europe provided many towels in the room. It's not that the towels in the room were insufficient as they were sufficient. But for some reason the trend of the hotels we stayed in Europe is that they provide many towels in the room. There was a whirlpool in the toilet but there no instructions on how to use it so we didn’t use it. The television in the bedroom only provided Italian channels so I hope in future there are English channels as well. The other television in the living room wasn’t working. We enjoyed the breakfast at the AC Hotel Torino. Breakfast at the AC Hotel Torino offers its guests a wide range of delicious breads. They also have scrambled egg, bacon and mozzarella cheese served at breakfast. Two types of cakes are also provided. The highlight of the breakfast was the fruit cup. Variety of fruit are cut and put conveniently into a glass cup for guest to consume. Of course the coffee at breakfast tasted amazing. Erika kindly told us that at the subway station we can buy a 3 day pass and use it for 3 days for both the subway, bus and trams. The hotel is close to the Spezia station. Spezia station is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Its only 5 stations to Porta Nuova station, which is the city center. Distance between each subway station is quite short. I would say it was actually quite convenient to go to the city center by subway from the hotel. There are many places to eat at the Lingotto mall, which is 5 minutes from the hotel. There is also Eataly Torino Lingotto next to the Lingotto mall, which is a place you can eat and also buy groceries. You can also buy groceries in Carrefour Market, which is also close to the hotel. There are many choices near the hotel. Also, MAUTO – Automobile Museum is 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. There is a gym in the hotel but we didn’t have time to use it. The hotel is known to host many conferences as there are many conference rooms in the hotel. Guests who stay in the hotel during my stay were mainly those who attend conferences in the hotel. However, I could see that there were a few other guests who were there for leisure like me. One more point for improvement is the turn around time for responding to email inquiries may need to be quicker. Sometimes after I send an email to ask about something it takes more than 1 day to get a reply. Therefore, sometimes on the second day if I don’t get a reply to my email I call the hotel to follow up. Only then I receive a reply to my email. Daniela Russo professionally handled my check out. She called the taxi for me to take to the Torino airport for me to travel to my next destination in Europe.
