Unforgettable stay at real Castle. We stayed at the Rundegg Castle in enchanting
Merano (Meran) a true Fairy tale setting surrounded by majestic mountains and flowery gardens. where once royalty spent time enjoying themselves about .
What a treat to wake up every morning to the welcoming panoramic views from your
own room, a different postcard view in every window.
You will not find better hosts than those at the Rundegg you feel you are pampered
and taken care of. Breakfasts are abundant enough to keep you belly happy, and dinners are endless 5 course and delicious.
We enjoyed night live music once a week and it was wonderful.
Luchious gardens !!!
Excellent spa facilities and in and outside pools for your enjoyment.

Castle Rundegg
Highly recommended!!!

We had another fantastic visit to this most wonderful hotel, our first since the pandemic.

David, Daniel, and their staff have done a magnificent job of not only maintaining their superb level of service but have also managed to make noticeable yet subtle improvements to their excellent service.

Their restaurant is Michelin Star worthy to include their generous breakfast buffet that is included.

I can’t say enough about how great the Hotel Castle Rundegg truly is!

Booked last minute and received a price around €150 incl breakfast which is excellent value these days. Loved the park, the outside pool, the outside lounge. The inside pool and the rooms are a tad on the older charming side, but this is typical in all of Italy, and especially in castle hotels. We were very happy with our stay.

We were allotted a standard classic double room for 4 nights. Whether a standard double room or suite, for the fact that the hotel is 4 stars , one would expect better. The furniture was old and extremely basic which could be found in any 3-star establishment. The hotel smelt musty and old immediately upon entering. It was 36C and no AC. I should have asked prior to reserving, so I learned a lesson for the future. The breakfast was very simple and basic without variation. Twice we asked for omelet and twice we were told its either sunny side up or scrambled. It was extremely noisy as we had to keep all the windows open all the time due to the extreme heat. The hotel is on a main road and the traffic is very heavy.

For me Rundegg is a signature of Meran. The place where elegance, hospitality, quality and charm are joined in synergy. A building full of history, a welcoming respectful stuff who warmly takes care of you, fine food, a beautiful garden..And all this in the nearest proximity of everything Meran has to offer, you literally have the town on the palm of your hand. This place has been my love for 15 years, a place to hide away from hustle and noise of the world, a place to be pampered and rejuvenated. Many thanks to everyone who makes Rundegg one of a kind!

The place to stay in Merano. Approximately a 7 minute walk from downtown, along the river. This is a sanctuary of peace and tranquility. The amenities: pool, sauna, whirlpool, are great. The staff is courteous and goes out of their way. Parking is free and right outside. My room was in the Castle proper but i've stayed in the annex as well. When in Merano stay here. Prices are very reasonable.

Very nice hotel and spa, although the spa had strange hours. But will never go back and recommend anyone who stays here, watch out for the big rip-off at check out. Do not charge anything to your room, do not use the phone, do not even pick it up... Our phone bill was higher than our room rate at check out. Called a Toll-Free (800) Milan, Italy Intel Business Number and was charged nearly $300.00 for an hour converstaion. Argued to no avail, even tried to argue the point with my Credit Card company when i got the bill but that was no use either. The receptionist said there are no such thing as Toll-Free numbers in Italy. I said, since when, i have travelled to Italy many times and called the corporate office in Milan toll-free. This type of thing can still happend in Italy... so you just have to be careful, sad but reality. Avoid this hotel...

Our title is perhaps a slight exaggeration , but we first visited Schloss Rundegg at the beginning of the 80's before our (now 31) Daughter was born. In more than 40 years of business & personal trips through Europe we have never stayed at a Hotel that exceeded the standards of Classical Ambience and sheer quality of the infrastructure and guest service that is on offer at Rundegg. A very small number have for us been close or similar but none have surpassed the feeling we continuously get from our stays at Rundegg. From the Managing Family down they really go the extra distance to give the guest a truly superb stay. All the Staff are just so genuinely attentive and courteous to the Guests every need. The Castle itself is spotlessly clean , in immaculate condition , full of wonderful Antiques and paintings & old prints. The rooms are superb - expansive in area with very high quality beds and appointments , and are very very quiet - there is no road or community noise to distract sleep. The Bathrooms are similarly large & of high quality fit out and lacking absolutely nothing by way of appointments. There is free WiFi available from the rooms which is a great facility to offer. The Breakfast (either internally or on the external Terrace) has a food selection range that almost beggars belief. The Restaurant has old vaulted ceilings , offers a very wide excellent range of food choices (ditto the wine selection available) , and what is delivered to the table excels each night without exception. There is more than ample parking in the Castle grounds for Guests vehicles. The gardens to the rear of the Building have wonderful gardens with the specimen trees in most instances having Plaques that identify the Botanic and common name of the tree. Our Daughter had a massage session and Full Facial in the Health section of the Hotel and said that the standard of the treatment was very professional and very enjoyable. And last but not least the cost of a stay at Rundegg we believe to be extremely reasonable for what they offer the guest. We will continue to visit and enjoy Schloss Rundegg as often as we can in the coming years.

We’ve been visiting Merano ( charming place) for many years for our stay this time we chose Castel Rundegg ,though we are still enjoying our days at the Castle we felt impelled to write our impressions from our first week. The Castle is full of charm and character, beautifully furnished with vintage and antique, museum quality paintings adorn it’s walls and guest rooms. The location could not be better a few short minutes walk to the center. Our room is very spacious, all the toiletries are French made . The staff could not be more friendly and attentive, my wife which has disabilities and food restrictions we feel that this’s being taken care of with great attention by all. As we are staying on a half board basis we are enjoying dinners at the hotel every night in a most lovely setting, a dining room with vaulted ceilings that transports you back into a far away past. The dinner consists of a five course, plus a salad bar, with a menu that changes every day. Wine list is extensive with some excellent local wines. This property also houses a wonderful spa which is beautifully designed cozy and intimate, with a large indoor pool and fitness room There are sauna rooms too, wet and dry . Must mention also their massage treatments to which we both enjoyed . The Castel is enclaved on its own lush, park like, gardens with many sitting areas to relax or take the sun on a lounge chair. Castle Rundegg will delight you.

If you like old Hotels , like my husband and I do, then this is the perfect place.
The hotel is situated walking distance to Merano and to the stunning Botanical Garden.
Our room had a privat little garden and the rooms were spacious.
The receptionist Lisa was very helpful and helped to make our stay very memorable.
The breakfast was plentiful and the Server Lisa Laimer had a smiley face and made the day extra special.
The Restaurant served delicious dinners with very good choices for food and wine.
The Spa was first class with a wonderful heated pool.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel.

No AC, just the natural mountain breezes and a temperate climate. We were there at its hottest and our room was still comfortable at night. Perfect for us. But, if you are an American that insists on AC buzzing all day and night you will not be happy.

in 15 minuti a piedi ci si arriva. Altrimenti con i mezzi pubblici bastano 5 minuti di autobus che passano ogni 10 minuti circa alla fermata dell'Hotel.
