Detailed Reviews
City Hotel Merano is a lovely, clean and modern hotel with spacious rooms or - I'm almost tempted to call them - small apartments/flats with a stunning mountain view.
The receptionists were all efficient, kind and professional.
We even had kitchens in our 'rooms' with tea boilers like there was complimentary bottled water available.
Minibar and safe to store valuables. Moreover there were complimentary drinks at the bar.
A downside to this otherwise appealing hotel is that they don't have a restaurant however, there are many restaurants nearby.
If one isn't too hungry the hotel does have a bistro with some small dishes and the food is good there.
Breakfast buffet had a variety of options to choose from including international breakfast.
City Hotel Merano is a hotel worth visiting as it absolutely deserves its four and a half stars.
We will definitely return!

We have nothing to complain about with the hotel.
The rooms are spacious and perfectly adequate for 2 people
The hotel appears to be either new or newly renovated
The staff were always courteous and friendly, it was not noisy, the balcony facing north was lovely to sit on
The breakfast is exceptional with a buffet and ordering service via the wait staff, which always worked, even when it was busy
The spa area is a bit small, a sauna, a steam sauna and a few loungers, there could be more.
We were completely satisfied, can definitely recommend the hotel

Very nice, modern hotel in the city of Merano. Very good service, great rooms with two rooms and a very good breakfast buffet.
Underground car park with its own bicycle cellar made the hotel a top accommodation on our X-Alp tour to Lake Garda.

+1
Basically a really nice, clean hotel.
The suite we booked was nice, even with a kitchenette. But why you have to pay €55 extra for cutlery and crockery is very questionable.
The reception was friendly, and they also explained the opening times of the SPA to us.
When we were in the SPA, the whirlpool was covered and the sauna and steam bath were not heated. The samovar for hot tea wasn't even filled or plugged in.
I then went to reception because there is no telephone or staff in the spa area. I asked there about using the SPA, to which I received the answer: yes, if you want, you can use it. Two ladies then covered the whirlpool. However, only two jets work in this one, which is why the experience wasn't really worth it. When I looked into the sauna area, I noticed that the saunas were still not heated.
As we didn't have time to wait until the saunas were warm due to an appointment, I didn't ask at reception again.
When I left, I asked at reception again why the spa area was closed despite opening hours. I was then told that guests had to let us know in advance. However, we were definitely not told this when we checked in.
The breakfast is generally good, but there is very little choice at the buffet, and it is only replenished very slowly. It is better to order several things a la carte at once, as you get more out of them.
As I said, generally a nice hotel with a lot of potential, but as a guest you don't get the feeling that you are really being looked after.

The mattress on the sofa bed is very poor. We complained and the next evening they put a wooden board on it to make it more rigid. Furthermore, they made a mistake at check-out by not applying the agreed discount.
They gave us the difference back in cash with a different room price list from one day to the next.
Poor hospitality and exaggerated prices for the service offered.

I'll start by saying that I only stayed in a suite of this hotel for a couple of days. A plus point is certainly the space. Our "room" was practically an apartment with a kitchen, automatic shutters and a wonderful terrace.
Clean room although we found a hair in the shower, plus it had a broken glass.
The pillows were not very comfortable.
They provide a bathrobe and towel for the spa, which left me a little disappointed.
A sauna, a Turkish bath and a relaxation area. End. The external basin was closed for the winter season. I certainly expected more, considering the fact that the hotel is a 4-star hotel.
Nothing to say, however, about breakfast and the underground garage accessible only if you are a customer.

Modern hotel, attentive to detail, excellent location near the centre, varied breakfast and professional and courteous welcome.
The room was very comfortable, with separate kitchen area and sleeping area. Huge balcony with mountain views

Central position.
Spacious room, new furniture and impeccable cleanliness.
Personally, the water in the shower must be absolutely boiling hot, especially in such cold places and it wasn't at all.
In a 4 star superior I also expect an almost surprising breakfast and it definitely isn't: enough variety but very low quality (if you indicate local fruit juices you can't put packaged and sugary ones in the jug; embarrassing portions for what is served at the paper).

Great location, three minutes walk from the center, free parking but above all a welcome and a staff of ten and praise. I stayed with my family and my dog Pepe, and we were all treated excellently by a kind and professional staff.
I thank everyone and if I return to Merano, I have no doubt where I will stay.
The rooms are spotless and there is nothing out of place or missing.
The hotel does everything to satisfy every request, from the bike to the umbrella.
Super!!!!!

Very nice hotel in the center of Merano. The rooms are nice and modern. We were there on vacation as a family and were given a very warm welcome and well looked after. The rooms were clean, spacious and modern. The bar and lounge are very nice and there was a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast together was our highlight. Plentiful with mainly regional products. There was nothing to complain about and we can definitely recommend a stay at the City Hotel Merano.

Guten Morgen,
