I stayed at the Accademia Hotel in Trento for two nights, in the context of a business trip. The hotel is ideally located: within the city center, close to the train station and everything is either at a walking distance, or easily accessible thanks to the city bus network (that guests can use for free with the Trento guest card available from the hotel). The staff was very helpful and welcomed me nicely, providing all explanations that are necessary for a smooth stay. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, including a lot of storage space and a working corner. However, the hotel wifi connection has never really worked, and it was even hard to get a 4G signal from the room. This made my working time during the evenings a bit cumbersome. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with a lot of Italian stuffed croissants, bread, ham, cheese, coffee, tea, etc. Really outstanding on all aspects! To summarise, my stay was really good and I will probably go back to this place at my next visit to Trento (despite the issue with the wifi).

I'have been staying at the Accademia hotel quite a few times since 2003 (1) and always enjoyed my stay, until I got a notification about a fine for entering the Trento ZTL (limited access area in the city center). I entered to pick up my luggage and the hotel should have reported the local police. They made an error of one wrong character in the license plate. They immediately notified the police about the error (meanwhile, I was charge 35 Euros by the rental car company). The police asked that their expenses for handling the issue will be reimbursed. I expected that the hotel will pay (31 Euros). The hotel refused and the response was that this is my responsibility as I should have checked the message they sent (which I did not see...). So I had to pay the 31 Euros + 20 Euros transfer fees... So jst pay attention if you come by car and enter the ZTL...

Dear Mr. Kuflik, we are so sad you decided to expose here on Tripadvisor your disappointment before receiving a definitive answer from the direction. Indeed the decision to pay the police expenses of 31,11 € was already taken when you decided to write here. To pay was an exceptional decision because all the time we explain everything about the ZTL access, and we give to the customers a paper with the plate number on it and we ask them if it is correct, there is even written in the hall and in the elevator to check if is everything alright . We are so sorry for the misunderstanding Mr. Kuflik and we will be happy to see you again in our comfortable Hotel in the historical center of Trento in the future. Best regards, Marzia Piva

The location is good, bang in the centre of Trento. The room was quiet and the breakfast quite good. Staff was attentive too, if not overly friendly. However, the room decor is very plain, and the room size quite minimal - thus, this is by no means a 4-star (!!) hotel as they claim, but rather a **+ or at best a *** one. Also, wifi reception was very poor at the end of the corridor wher our room (220) was. I'd stay here again, but it would not be my first choice.

No hot water on first night and then erratic after that in the evenings. May be switching it off at night to reduce costs. Then very loud couple arrived (probably kids) and made huge noise and turned up TV full blast etc. All TV stations in Italian. Mediocre breakfast. A horror story really. Trento is a very nice historic town but stay somewhere else.

Wonderful location in historical centre. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms ok but not exceptional. We stayed there while biking from Bolzano to Venice and found it very comfortable. Decent breakfast. True to its name it had some visiting academics staying there.
