We couldnt find the location and tryed to reach the owner, we called many times, but couldnt get in contact. At the end we must call hotels.com who reached the owner. The owner didnt knew we where coming, so the room wasnt cleaned, no toiletpaper or handsobe at the toilet. This should be a bed and breakfast, but the kitchen...

It was simple but good enough. The location is excellent, near to the Vaporetto station in Lido. But I did not like the breakfast. This is a nice plase if you only want to sleep for a good price. Room and bathroom are very clean

I agree with a previous comment that this Bed and Breakfast which is in Lido Venice and is owned by Alvise Girardello and address is Vettor Pisani, Lido. It is NOT the one that is based just off San Marco and the bridge of Sighs which sounds lovely and is owned by another family. There appears to be two very...

We stayed in the Batik Room last week and were amazed to find it directly next door to The Bridge of Sighs. Very easily access by the water buses, as well. The included breakfast was a made to order omelette and fresh fruit, pastries, juices, coffee, etc. Highly recommended.

I too think people have accidently reviewing the wrong hotel on here as having read the reviews we were expecting a great location (5 mins from St Marks Square), great service or at the very least a front desk. For starters its quite a dstance from Venice, in Lido a different island to Venice entrely. We arrived at the station and...

My husband and I spent two weeks touring Italy and Venice was our last stop. By the time we reached Venice we were exhausted from traveling. We had a terrible hotel experience in Florence, so we really needed our Venice hotel to be perfect. Ca dei Dogi did not disappoint. The owners of this hotel work at the front desk...

We stayed at Ca Dei Dogi twice in September prior and after our Mediterranean cruise. Each of our hosts: Susanne, Stefano and John are remarkable people who focused on providing the best service for their clients - and delivered 1000% for us.. Though we had most interaction with Susanna, I know that it takes a team to make sure excellent...

We arrived in Venice late due to a train delay, then got lost trying to find the hotel (not uncommon in Venice). When we found this quaint little hotel off the beaten path, Stefano greeted with a huge smile! He walked us up to our room and gave us a little tutorial. The room is very modern and CLEAN! It...

We stayed here for 3 nights in Venice. It was a wonderful location within a few minutes walking distance of St. Marks Square. There are many restaurants nearby, as well as the Grand Canal. The hosts, Susanna and Stefano were extremely friendly and helpful, with planning tours and giving us tour recommendations. The free wi-fi was also very convienient. I'd...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
