The hotel was beautiful and so kind! The only thing was that as it is an older building the walls seemed very thin and we could hear everything in the check-in area as we were the first room. Otherwise it was the perfect stay! Oh and get the in bed breakfast, continental or Italian, totally worth it!!

Lovely quaint hotel very friendly staff and very clean. It is a little hard to find but that is Venice! Print and follow the map. Entrance is by a door into a ground floor area so it's not too obvious. Lovely spacious rooms and friendly staff I'd stay there again and recommend to anyone going.

We stayed in the flat for two nights, the room was good quality with a nice bathroom except it smelled gross. The rest of the hotel and outside didn't smell, so just our room. It smelled like the previous guests had cooked something and let it sit. Yuck! Our second night we had no hot water, we didn't find this...

Excellent room for a very good price.Clean and comfortable, but pillows were a little too hard.Very quiet location, yet only 5 minutes from Rialto or 10 from St . Marks on foot.Would highly recommend our superior double for the price.

We spent four nights in this former palace and loved the great location, large elegant room and very friendly staff. We were given excellent restaurant recommendations. From the hotel it's an easy, short walk to all major attractions. Stay here and be happy.

Great staff, excellent location, just off the busy trail, great furniture & excellent accomodation - beds & bathroom. Breakfast should be included, it would be nice. You can walk anywhere from there, it is in the middle of Venice, so EXCELLENT CHOICE!!! for people who seek European style!

Pros: big, clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff, good location, value for money. In two steps there is a "Coop" supermarket. Cons: Hard to find (tiny door, facing little road, with almost no signs). No elevator.

Stayed here with 2 friends for one night and it was just what we needed. The bathroom was a great size. The room was a little small since we had a second rollaway bed but it was fine. We didn't spend much time in the room. The hotel staff was friendly and the location was great! Only a 6 min...

we Highly recommend them as we felt at home excellent service at all times, From our arrival which is quiet a maze to figure out which is Venice to the time we left we were very comfortable, time went by far too quickly and never got to experience the lovely smelling breakfast but it did smell good so next time...

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of March. It didn't look like much from the outside, but most the hotels in Venice look the same. Very good location, just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was large with powerful shower. The only thing that let this hotel down was they...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
