This hotel is located in Venice. On 29/10, we departed bound for Milan, but we forgot a cell phone in the room 341. Once realized, yet we connect the train station asking the employee Maximiliano which the quickest to recover well, because we would be still in Italy to 1/11? Several contacts were made (phones and -mails, messages via facebook...

Hotel was in a great location just off St Marks square. The room was small enough and and the decor is a bit dated. The breakfast wasn't good, very bland. Be prepared to speand 5.50 for a diet coke in the bar and all the bars and restuarants beside it, St Marks squar is so expensive. Safe in hotel didn't...

Wonderful location. Hotel in much need to some maintenance - room has dripping air con and wall paper falling down. One of the men at the counter was very short when checking us in and out. Breakfast room very cramped!

Terrible overcrowded breakfast room with guests jostling to get to the buffet ;unfriendly staff; very poor basic buffet style breakfast - and tables placed too close together.. No working WiFi or air-con. Very pricey and poor quality evening meal. There were loads of mosquitoes in our bedroom, no anti midge plug ins were provided and despite complaining to the Reception...

Great location if you want to be off a canal and close to San Marco. Clean but old and in need of a renovation, but it is serviceable for sleeping. Given the price, I think I could definitely have done better. The staff are badly in need of some customer service training, and completely rude.

No Glass and jug for drinking water, No Tea or Coffee facilities but they claimed as 3-Star hotel. I was wondering. I didn't find to rate this hotel as 3-star standard. To find the hotel its too hard physically. I booked for panada but they gave rooms in another hotel what they claim their sister concern. They explained that due...

It couldn't be better located - near St. Marks's. Our room was nice enough and very quiet - I got an excellent night's sleep and did not hear any of the passersby as you often do this close to St. Mark's. The breakfast was really pretty minimal and not very appetizing.

From Milan we went to Venice and stayed at Antico Panada between August 3rd and August 6th 2016. Considering we paid US $ 571.96 plus city tax of Euro 31.50 the hotel, if one can call it as one, gave us one bad experience after another. Our first impression about this property wasn't good as the reception manager (wearing eye...

Venice is very expensive so compromises have to be made if you want to be so well located just steps from St Mark's square. I feared the worst after reading some of the reviews and looking at pictures but it really wasn't so bad. The decor is old fashioned and rather over-ornate for my taste, but that didn't mean it...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
