Neighbourhood
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

We have had a lovely stay in Venice for my husbands birthday. The hotel is located in a quiet but beautiful part of town with easy reach of restaurants and bars. Having walked around a great deal we felt that the area of the hotel was upmarket without being too centrally located

Dear tanyahenson32, First of all, thank you for choosing Palazzo Veneziano for your Venitian stay. We would like to thank you for sharing your experience here on Tripadvisor. We are glad to read that the location was quiet but in a beautiful part of town, but we regret to see it has not fully met your expectations. Palazzo Veneziano is well located between the stops of Zattere and San Basilio. We are not located on the Grand Canal, it 5 minutes walking far from us, as well as San Marco could be reached in 15 minutes by foot. We are really looking forward of welcoming you back here soon, we would love to have the chance to provide a 5 star experience. Warm Regards Jacopo Trevisan Front Desk

Dear LoneRocky, Thank you for your feedback concerning your stay at Palazzo Veneziano. We are pleased that overall you had a good experience in Venice and in our hotel. In fact we are close to St. Mark's square and all the other attractions. Nevertheless, as we are in a residential area of the city, Dorsoduro, this district offers lots of gems on culture, food and authentic things that near San Marco are getting lost. Three things we'd like to address that you've mentioned: We thank you for your kind words about our rich breakfast buffet. Our hotel is indeed "in a fantastic state of repair" because no work is being done, neither inside nor outside the hotel, as the neighboring complex that unfortunately is under construction momentarily does not belong to us. Lastly we hope that the size of your room has not bothered you and didn't disturb the overall good experience you've had by getting some good rest in a "comfortable and quiet" room. We are eager to welcome you once again and will try everything to ensure your stay at Palazzo Veneziano can be a truly perfect one. Best regards Julian

The Palazzo Veneziano was a perfect hotel for our family of 4. We had a family suite that had a separate level with two beds for our teenagers. It was a perfect set up. The breakfast was fantastic, especially the cappuccino! The location was great for walking anywhere in Venice

Dear Sherilyn F, We thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. As you mentioned our family suites are for example an ideal solution for guests with older children, as the beds being on separate levels within the suite. We are happy that your accomodation matched your expectations on purpose for a family stay. Our breakfast is truly a gem and second to none regarding the Italian standard. We will forward your kind words to the staff as well as food and beverage management. The Dorsoduro district, where our hotel is situated, is the perfect mix between residential feeling by avoiding the crowded San Marco area, but still be attached to it and actually also getting from A to B with different transportation options. As we work 24/7 we are always willing to assist you for any matter you need to address. We hope to welcome you back one day in Venice and at Palazzo Veneziano Best regards Julian

Dear tiffallegra, We are deeply thankful for your kind review. On a special occasion and availability permitting, we try to get the best out of our guest's stay regarding an eventual upgrade. You were lucky and we are happy that you've been completely satisfied with our services. Our housekeeping staff is working hard every day to fulfill any request and upon availability we may provide an iron and ironing board in your room as well as we are glad for more serious requests to refer to our excellent laundry service. We will forward your nice compliments to Elena, who is definitely an example for our high standards and our emphasis on customer care. As for the neighbouring complex under construction, we feel deeply sorry that your stay has been hampered by this and all of our staff can't wait to see this crane disappear in the very near future to make our guest's stay a completely perfect experience. In the hope to welcome you back in Venice and at Palazzo Veneziano, Best regards Julian

Could anyone advise me the best way to get to the hotel from Venice Treviso Airport please?
There is bus from the airport to the main terminal port. From where take the 2 or 3 days public boat ticket depending on ur length of stay. The nearest station is Zattere or San Basilio

To get there, you can either take a taxi boat at the airport (120€)and it will take directky at the hotel in 25 mn. Or take a taxi (40€)to Piazza Roma and there you buy a ticket for the '' vaporetto".,which is a bus boat which will take you to pier ar 200 meters from the hotel. I suggest you to buy a tickey valid one day or as many days you need (40€per day)

Dear Yuan B, The Acqua Alta season in Venice usually endures from November until February and occasionally extra high tides can occur, other than the almost certain, but by no means constant flooding in St. Mark’s square (being the lowest point of the city) during these months. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that, when the water level rises, it comes back to normal after a maximum of 6 hours, like the usual tide. The 29th of October 2018 was an almost historic day in Venice regarding the tide, but after 6 hours, as mentioned previously, the city went back to normality. We would like to assure you that there are no risks to explore the city and for the coming days there’s no more high water predicted - it’s just Venice, in all its beauty and extravagance. Always at your disposal. Best regards Julian Front Desk
