We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. Quiet enough but within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, including the train station. Our room was clean, nicely furnished and fitted out. We had a window overlooking the canal which added to the appeal. Breakfast was great and due to an early morning train our final breakfast was...

We can't recommend this little B&B highly enough, what a superb find in Venice! With only 6 rooms and great canal side views if you are luckily enough to get a canal side room you are in for a real treat! Room 3 was fantastic, clean, comfortable with a modern bathroom that all made for a relaxing stay after walking...

I have been too long in writing this review but I stayed here for nearly a week last July and found the hostess Alexandra and her staff all warm, welcoming, and top-notch. It was just me in a double bed, and said double bed was the only "slight" negative on the entire stay. I think the double beds need replacing...

Such an amazing place. The host Alexandra is charming and put some chocolates and prosecco in our room as we told her we were on our honeymoon. The room and entire hotel was nicely heated and warm and every meaning of the term. View from our room was on the canal. Hotel is modern, all is functional for a perfect...

Hotel Alla Vite Dorata in Venice very comfortable and refined, our room was with the canal view, it was super! The owner of the hotel was very kind, knows English very good. The maids speak Russian. When we were at the hotel, I had a birthday, so the owner of the hotel gave me a bottle of champagne and sweets)))...

The location is a bit off the beaten path, but that's not a bad thing. It's away from the craziness of the busy streets of Venice. Still, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We walked to St. Mark's Square (and got lost several times 😒). It's a bit of a walk, but doable. There's also a vaporetta stop in easy...

Clean and nice small hotel. Located near stop of water communication and about 15 minutes walk from S. Marco. Very peaceful area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Romantic, quiet and climatic place. We got room located just next to the canal - nice experience.

Our room was right on the canal. The place is spotless, and very quiet, as Cannaregio is very much a neighborhood, rather than a tourist hotspot. But San Marco is an easy walk, and access to the various boats, etc to transport you around the city is also very easy. Breakfast is plentiful and lovely. We would most definitely stay...

We stayed here for the final three days of our Italy vacation and loved every minute of it. We arrived a little later on the first night and was greeted warmly. The people at the front desk were great for recommending good local restaurants to eat at that aren't so touristy. The room was a good size, very clean, and...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
