Just spent 3 nights in this hotel and highly recommend to any travellers to Venice. The hotel is well located between St Marcos Square and the Rialto Bridge. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated in Venetian style. Buffet breakfast is included in the price and includes a wide range of fresh fruits, cereals, breads, hams, cheese etc and freshly...

Centrally located. Nice and clean rooms. Breakfast was also nice. Do not know why the toilet did not have any doors. Maybe it was because I was single. Othet than that. Place is a good one in central Venezia.

San Luca is very well located, near to San Marco and to Rialto, but still neither noisy nor too crowded, as it is on a narrow side street. The buffet breakfast is excellent, although sometimes the tables are not sufficient if many people arrive at the same time. Rooms are nice, bathroomes excellent and well furnished. the staff is extremely...

Entrance , stairs (no elevator) and the first floor front desk look much worse than the rooms, that are a nice surprise. Friendly personnell, reasonable price by Venetian standards. Very good location.

We stayed in the annexes, another set of their apartments closer to piazza San Marco and only a 5 minute walk from their main hotel/reception and breakfast room. The location was fantastic, on a canal and so close to St Marks Square. Would definately stay here again, staff were so nice, breakfast was fantastic and situated in a very nice...

We stayed at the Hotel San Luca for two nights in July. As others have mentioned, if you want to be close to the San Marco attractions as well as alot (and I mean ALOT) of stores, the hotel is in a great location. We stayed in a triple room in the main hotel rather than the annex. The room...

We stayed in the "annexe", which is another set of apartments called Casa Dolce a few mintes away from Hotel San Luca but right above a canal. Our room was good-sized, had a balcony and it was superb. Renovated with a chandalier to die for with Murano glass features, the apartment was not your usual hotel stay. But being so...

Hotel was fine and more than satisfactory(but do not stay in the dark and dungy Annex). Service, room, breakfast more than satisfactory. On one hand the location is close to things-on the other hand this makes it noisy. The whole San Marco location was just teeming with tourists in May-enjoyed taking the Vaporetto and going to quieter areas. Venice is...

The location of this hotel is great and the rooms are OK. Apart from that the hotel offers no value for money. The breakfast was very poor.

The hotel is about a 4 minute walk from San Marco, and about a 6 minute walk from the Rialto, so if you want to be near the most popular sights the location is great. Remember though that there is virtually no neighborhood life here; it's all commerce and tourism. Anyway. My room was new, very comfortably furnished, clean and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
