If you have no kids and intend to stay near train station without carrying luggages in Venice this is the place. Room has a nice view to the Grand Canal and facilities are good. This is not a Huge hotel, ideal for couples. We could use the sister hotel facilities right next corner. Vaporetto station and Piazzale Roma( bus and...

I think this hotel is confused with the Abbazia Hotel which is the one that has 24 hour service, views and spacious rooms. The Abbazia de luxe has a one person staff that is gone by 1600. My room was small and only contained two flat pillows. The view was of a palm tree and the locals living right across....

Close to Rail Station, bus station (thus easy from airport) and vaporetto stops. Good restaurants close by. Good breakfast (included). Comfortable bed. Lots of space. No screen on windows, hence mosquito concern. Must carry luggage up a fairly long, step stairs. It is about 50 feet off the Grand Canal, very close to a walk-across bridge so both sides of...

Hotel is minutes away from the Piazzale Roma and train station. Very convenient if you are arriving late at night. If you arrive late, check in is next door at Hotel Abbazia. Good for boat services as many lines stops right next to hotel. There are two supermarkets Coop not far from hotel if you need anything. Room is very...

I read the trip advisor reviews before we arrived at this hotel, the last hotel stay of our Gate I 13day trip to Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. We were only here in Venice for two overnights.it is a stones throw to the train station and one of the large bridges over the grand canal. This place is charming, old, comfortable...

My friend and I stayed here for a 1-night stay in Venice, and it was super convenient to the train station. However, there isn't an elevator, so you do have to bring your bags up stairs. The room itself (suite) was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was a shower in the bathroom, and a separate tub in a sitting...

If you are travelling by train, the hotel is easy to get to, even if you have heavy luggage, as it is just a couple of minutes from Venezia Santa Lucia station and there are no bridges or slopes to struggle with. Its location is also a good base for exploring Venice as it is in a narrow side street...

What a great hotel in a great location! We were in suite 601 which was way more than I had expected from the photos on the web site. The staff was wonderfully accomodating and extremely helpful during our stay. Ellenna provided us with great information on a place for lunch and general directions to get around the city during our...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
