Stayed here back in July. Brilliant little place in the heart of Venice. The room was very traditional, spacious and clean. The breakfast brought straight to our door in the morning was great also. 5mins walk from San Marco and other sights. Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. Friendly hosts, affordable and a good location, recommend!

We have recently just stayed here it was the start of our small tour of Italy and have to say it was amazing. Bruno and Valerie were very helpful and served us breakfast in our room every morning.. The room was exactly as pictured, we were very happy and would definitely recommend and we would stay again.

Took us a while finding the hotel with it being Venice but when we did, the guy was hanging out of the window asking if we were staying there to ensure we found it, which made me laugh. The couple who own it were so friendly, the room was very clean and typical Italian, we were served breakfast every morning,... More

I took my girlfriend here for 2 nights for a birthday surprise. The manager emailed us a few days before we arrived with directions. This was useful however the email was written half in English and half in Italian which made the instructions very difficult to follow. After we (eventually) arrived (the hotel is very difficult to find) we checked... More

We stayed at Ca' Luisa in September. The rooms were clean and exceptionally large for Italy. We loved the Merano glass chandeliers in our room and the Italian breakfast every morning with bread, cheese, meats, and the yogurts and orange juice for us Americans. You're not on a canal, and it's a little hard to find at first, but we... More

We stayed there for only one night but it was quite good. The couple owner of the apartment was sooooo nice. The room was very nice and comfortable and breakfast is simple and served inside the room in a small table. Location is very good as well. We could stay there again!

The B&B Ca' Luisa is perfect for thos who wants to be 5 minutes away from the San Marco Square and not paying a fortune. The rooms are very nice decorated, the bed is very comfortable and the old couple that probably owns the place are very helpful and amable, even if they don't speak very good English. We chose Ca'Luisa for our brief honeymoon stay in Venice and and were delighted by how welcoming the owners were. It isn't very easy to find at first as the entrance is in one of the smaller side streets (Calle Strazze) but once inside we were presented with a beautifully furnished room and even air conditioning. This is not a... More

Our stay at this b&b added to the special charm of visiting Venice. It is in a narrow alley that is typical of the city, very close to St. Mark's Square. The room was very big and well decorated, with windows looking out to life in Venice. The breakfast is brought in by the owner herself and was so much... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
