Castello, 4196 Riva degli Schiavoni, 30122 Venice Italy
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

the perfect location, and we had our own private balcony where we could see the gondolas. Such an exquisite hotel, I LOVED it. They even have old school keys for the rooms. The Hotel bar has the most fabulous view.
Just back from a wonderful trip to Venice, including one night at the Danieli.
1. Views: The Lagoon/Grand Canal views from all three of the Danieli buildings are among the most spectacular in Venice...meaningfully better than the views from the Gritti Palace, for example,...More
You can tell this hotel is special as soon as you walk into the lobby. Our room was large and very charming with a view of the canal. Concierge was very helpful and always pleasant to speak with. We found the location to be convenient...More
A wonderful hotel! Unbeatable location, just meters from St Mark Square. Very friendly and helpful staff especially at check in and reception. Nice breakfast, also with good staff .
Spacious rooms . Very pleased overall .
The service is top notch. Check-in was gracious and smooth and every time I called or emailed the concierge they delivered fast and efficiently (I complained about the toiletries and they brought me better ones). Rooms are small (at least the deluxe room I stay)....More

We were in Venice in November of 2018. We arrive to Venice via Santa Lucia Station and we departed Venice via Marco Polo Airport. We used the following transportation method. From Santa Lucia, we took the water bus (cost is 7Euros pp). We bought tickets online and obtained the tickets from the ticket machine at the ferry dock (you just enter the receipt number). The water bus took about 40 minutes because there were 5-6 stops along the way. It was a very relaxing ride, even for a person who is not good on boat as myself. The water bus docks right in front of the Hotel Danieli (San Zaccaria/Danieli stop). On our last day, we took the Alilaguna (a private company water bus) to Marco Polo Airport. The cost was 16 Euros pp and the stop is San Zaccaria/Jolanda which is in front of the Savoa Jolanda hotel, adjacent to the Danieli. Again, very smooth ride of 70 minutes to airport. We took it at 5 am in the morning because our flight was at 9am and i remember the Alilaguna starts service at 4am each day (at 30 min interval). Once you arrive at Marco Polo airport, there is a long walk to the terminal but very doable. I would recommend taking the Alilaguna anytime because it is a bigger boat and less rocky than a small water taxi which can cost 160 Euros booked through the hotel
