The one... the only... the Cipriani! Located a (private 24h) boat launch across St. Marks Square, the Cipriani is an absolute mythical place and a safe haven amongst one big tourist Disney land that Venice transforms into during the summer months. Because of this it is the Best location in the city, close enough to the action but far enough...

Every time we arrive we feel so relaxed and welcomed. This is not a hotel it is an extension of an Italian family. This time we had a garden villa which led straight onto the pool area. Fabulous! The degustation menu in Oro was outstanding, if not a little long but a lovely walk in the gardens worked wonders. If...

After multiple visits to Venice at multiple hotels I am still drawn to th Cipriani. There are a handful of resort hotels in cities and this is at the top of the list. Great staff and food. (Room service was a little disappointing) Delicious breakfast. Good enough fitness center. It's a good idea to book Spa appointments before you arrive...

For me, this phrase also captures the special mutual relationship and harmonious concordance that is the oasis of the Cipriani in the midst of the rich, bustling magic that is Venice. When we travel, we plan to balance our itinerary to mix exploring new destinations and continuing to explore and deepen our knowledge of our few favourite cities. For us,...

From the point our water taxi drew up to the dock to the time we sadly left the hotel and staff did not disappoint our stay here was amazing. The greeting at the dock followed by the checking in was very welcoming, and Michael who then took us to our room showing us the main points of the hotel was...

It's always such a pleasure to return to this classic Grand Dame of Venice. A stunning peaceful retreat from the bustling vibe of Venice. From the moment you step off the boat you feel welcomed by the gracious and professional staff. Special thanks to German, Stefano, and Lorenzo in the restaurant. German helped me choose a beautiful wine. I always...

Cipriani hotel has an amazing piece of land in venice, its a very famous hotel but sadly they don't try to keep the hotel up to date. Our bed was old it seemed it was the same bed from the 1960s!!!. Notwithstanding i have seen a run down Venice suffering from a hard national financial crisis, the Cipriani remains a splendid corner where to hide from crowds and noise. The central building has been renovated and the rooms are classy and spacious. The service remains unbeatable, but it comes at a price: it is not a place for the weak, not...

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If Venice is a theatre, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is the Royal Box. It is a resort: a way of life, an island apart, in every sense. And it involves all the senses that make a stay unforgettable. Five minutes by private launch from St. Mark’s Square, on the tip of the Giudecca Island, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is in the heart of the city but removed from its hustle and bustle. Its 95 rooms and suites are exquisitely decorated with magnificent views over the open lagoon, the gardens and St. Marks. A day here is made up of layers of wonderful experiences, from luxuriating beside the Olympic-size swimming pool (the only one in central Venice) to relaxing with a signature treatment at the Casanova Wellness Centre. The Casanova gardens offer an oasis of peace, perfect for a Thai Chi session before heading off with a private boat for a personalised excursion in the lagoon. Choose to dine at the new Oro Restaurant for a timeless dining experience or at the iconic Cip’s Club admiring the view on St. Mark’s. Sip a signature cocktail at the Gabbiano Bar or enjoy a light lunch at the Porticciolo Restaurant. A red-clay tennis court, a gym and dedicated Kids' Club with pool are also available. ... more   less
