San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Due to a technical error upon booking, the room I had booked was not available for the 3 nights I had booked. It seems cancelling one booking on a duplicated booking meant both rooms were cancelled when I still required (and had paid for) one. This was remedied with 2 nights

I was at Venice Carnival 2019 checking out 3 masquerade balls. I have to say Minuetto Ball at the Ridotto of Palazzo Dandolo (Hotel Monaco) was the best! The set up was simply elegant. I met many fascinating people from Austria, UK, Swiss Italian, US, France. We all made

The bed was hard and the pillows felt like rocks. Very uncomfortable. Noisy room with banging from next door every night. Reported it to reception but not resolved. My experience was made worse by the fact that the hotel made a mistake with the booking and I was not booked

Dear Guest, I have verified all the points mentioned in your review. Your booking was correctly made but the fact that your voucher reported a different travel agency name caused an initial misunderstanding. I am sorry about it, I understand that this can cause anxiety but everything was solved promptly. All our freshly renewed rooms receive very good comments about their style and their comfort. We could have given you softer pillows, or even a different room, but it seems that our staff could not assist you in this because no complaint about it arrived at the front desk. The satisfaction of all our guests is our first goal so I really hope you’ll decide to visit us again in order to taste the quality of our service.

Yes, they do. They were very accommodating with me. I checked in dropped my bags and explored. The restrooms by the terrace are large and make it easy to freshen up if needed. I really enjoyed the spaciousness and convenience of “The Monaco”. Have an amazing time!
