The Monaco Hotel is a good 4 starts hotel in an excellent location just near San Marco square and a water bus station. The rooms are not big, as expected from a mid-city hotel, but they are comfortable and contain everything you need for a...More
From the moment we pulled up at the front of the hotel in the water taxi to the moment we left we had the best time. Fantastic position for everything in Venice. 2 min walk to St Mark's square and right next door to Harry's...More
We stayed one night in Nov. 2014 before boarding our Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel lobby is very modern looking, normal rooms (although rooms are not ready until 3PM, so even-though they hold your luggage til then, you are not able to change after such a...More
Excellent location, staff very helpful and friendly. Food is good everything fresh and well presented. Bar prices were very expensive bordering on stupid so this explained why the hotel bars are always empty maybe they should be more realistic in their pricing which would attract...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
