Fantastic mid size hotel really close to Train station (5-10 min walking). Small rooms but very well equipped with Sofitel standards. One of the most confortable beds I have slept in. Good breakfast . Good location to go walking everywhere. Polite and helpful staff.
We took a water taxi to the front door of Hotel Papadopoli, what a great way to start our visit to Venice. The staff greeted us warmly as they helped us disembark the water taxi and let us check in early so we didn't need...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

We arrived by train to Venice. Then upon leaving, we took a water taxi to the airport. The water taxi felt very safe. It was 3 am when we took the taxi and cold as it was December. I would think the city would be safe for you child. It might be very busy during tourist season. I'm not sure if the hotel is family friendly as we stayed there off season and the hotel was not busy.

our Hotel is extremely convenient for people who are cruising. Hotel is just 2 minutes away from Piazzale Roma, where you can find the "People Mover", a shuttle train that takes you right to the Cruise terminal. Make sure to get out on the Cruise terminal stop, as the People mover also makes a stop in Tronchetto.
We stay at your complete disposal for any further details.
