In the sestiere of Santa Croce, the other Venice among secret gardens and animated courtyards, cherished in the oblivion of the most unique city in the world.Hotel Papadopoli stands on the Tolentini Canal, inside the Papadopoli Gardens, created in 1834 by Francesco Bagnara. It’s a truly enviable location: close to the Canal Grande and the Constitution bridge, an artwork by the famous architect Calatrava, that connects the hotel

Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

Ah, I was alone, returned again to Papadopoli again but this time alone which allowed me to do whatever I chose. I was greeted warmly, given a room upgrade and found it all so seductive and charming. It is off-season but many people about and when I totally wish to escape I

A beautiful hotel located close to the bus and train stations, which was great as we were catching a train to our next destination, Florence. My travel companion has Accor Silver status, which meant that we got to enjoy the perks of a welcome drink and a nightly turndown

Outstanding service in a lovely hotel which is 5 minutes walk from the bus station with a quick link to the airport. Staff were quick, helpful and friendly and we were given a voucher to use in Murano saving us money for a glass blowing exhibition. We were also sent up champagne

We arranged for taxi service, which took us by car to the boat dock and then by boat the rest of the way. We used Blitz. They took care of our bags and we drove in first class accommodations. It might be a little pricier than other options, but as I have traveled with my mother(also 75) before I know this is the easiest way and so worth the extra money to me. However, the train station is about a five minute walk from the hotel, but you must go over a bridge and pull your suitcase. Many people do it. Again, I recommend Blitz or another car service

Cruising with Royal Caribbean how close is hotel to cruise terminal thank you
Dear Guest, our Hotel is extremely convenient for people who are cruising. Hotel is just 2 minutes away from Piazzale Roma, where you can find the "People Mover", a shuttle train that takes you right to the Cruise terminal. Make sure to get out on the Cruise terminal stop, as the People mover also makes a stop in Tronchetto. We stay at your complete disposal for any further details. Best regards
