Service was perfect, room quality really good, it is a bit far from the main points in Veneza (30 min walking), I strongly recomend this hotel. If I have a chance I will go back there. Breakfest really teasty and the decoration standard of Veneza...

The location is just 10 minutes away from Santa Lucia station. When we got there, they took care our luggages which is very rare in Europe. They surprised us by upgrading our room and a tray of prosecco and fresh strawberry. Everything is perfect with a balcony facing the canal. The front desk was very helpful, giving best choice for...

We stayed at Papadopoli for 2 nights starting our 18 day Italy and Greek tour with Gate 1 travel. We upgraded our room to a high floor with a balcony overlooking a small canal. So glad we did this. This hotel is located in the historic part of the city but easy access to the grand canal and all the...

Easy to find, very good location and a nice hotel. Very nice actually, the bathroom was large and modern with good towels. The bed was perfect for a few days rest and the tv had a surprising amount of channels. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Stayed in this hotel for a number of days in September, great place to stay. Location fantastic as only a few minutes walk from the airport bus drop off point. Close to water transport. Nice and quiet and good restaurants close by. The staff were excellent. Worthwhile having a drink in the bar for the excellent service, nibbles and relaxed...

I stayed at this hotel 9/29-10/1. I had an issue with my room. After calling the front desk and discussing my issue and informing them I was not satisfied, I was contacted by, Pierpaolo Cocchi, General Manager. He came to our room and apologized for our issues and couldn't have been more concerned about our stay. I would definitely stay...

This is a great place to stay as long as you like to walk. The area is clean and safe and only a few minutes walk to get a train or bus or water transport. The staff are outstanding and as my wife was celebrating a very special birthday, the gentleman at the front desk kindly organised for a cake,...

Chose using BA recommended hotels and trip advisor. Excellent choice if we say so ourselves! Took the bus from the airport to the bus station and the hotel was a 2 minute walk through a pleasant park. Great location away from the mayhem of Rialto bridge and St Marks but close enough to walk easily to them passing many interesting...

Venice was the first leg of our Italian holiday. Its our first time in Venice. The room we booked was a Culture package from Accors website and it comes with the museum ticket for two and VIP treatment including welcome cocktail and breakfast included. To get to the hotel you can take a few different options, by water taxi, water...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
