San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

We recently stayed here for one night on our way to Florence. We took a private water taxi from the airport straight to the hotel. Wonderful experience and meant we were at the hotel about 40 minutes after landing. We were lucky enough to be given a room with a view of the Grand

Possibly the friendliest and nicest hotel in Venice. Treated to a four night stay for my birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. The rooms were lovely, breakfast overlooking the Grand Canal and watching all the world go by in February ( we sat outside on the

The furnishings tell you a lot about this place: there are some genuine antiques, mixed in with some bric-a-brac. It's an old dwelling on the Grand Canal, across from the Ca' d'Oro, well located a short walk from the wonderful Rialto Mercato. Rooms are small for a hotel in

This was a nice hotel. Very clean and tidy with an aged grand charm. Not hard to find as other have said, if you use Google maps. The bar was a little lacklustre but it was nice to have a drink on the grand canal. Breakfast was lovely, easy self service with everything you

Take the Alilaguna, you can book it right at the airport at the ground transportation desk. Get off at San Stae, but have a map with you. It's a short walk but can be extremely confusing/disorienting even with the couple of signs the hotel has posted.

Dear Sir/Madame, he hotel is connected directly to Venice’s Marco Polo International Airport by water taxi or via the Alilaguna shuttle which stops at San Stae, just five minutes from our residence. As an alternative, take the line 5 ACTV bus or blue ATVO bus to P.le Roma and follow the directions above. Best Regards Giovanni

Hi is it costly to upgrade to a room with a canal view.
Sorry don’t know the cost but would recommend as our room was dark and it would have been so much nicer to have a canal view than the back yard and a side alley.
