This hotel has a very good location, only 5 minutes from the vaporetto. Nice cosy single room with a view on the little canal. The breakfast in the morning is rich in choice (if you want you can eat it on the terasse with view of the grand canal). Room with very fast wifi, very friendly staff. Will visit again.

We stayed for over one week at this hotel. We had stayed here previously and had planned to stay there again a year ago but we had to cancel due to health issues. With health restored and our love of Venice as strong as ever, we made plans to return and to book a room with a view over the... More

Room was traditional but very tired and in need of a refurb. Breakfast was extremely poor, items ran out but not were not replaced. All in all nowhere near a 4 star hotel. The only good thing was the view out on the Grand Canal.

This Hotel is very good, all of the employes were very nice and the breakfast is incredible. Just enjoy this hotel. You can get there with the linea 1 to the Station San Stae, but be careful of the labyrinth of the streets there. It is so nice there ...

I had a wonderful time at this hotel! It was my first visit to Italy and I was treated like a princess, it seemed! I arrived abit early and they had me have a cappacinno and even upgraded my room, which was pretty and comfortable ( I paid for single, got a double with a cool view of side canal)... More

San Cassiano is a beautiful hotel that has a very authentic feel to it. My room was on the small side (as i would expect in Venice), but comfortable and always immaculately cleaned. Breakfast was simple but tasty, the coffee is especially good. If you can, get out there early so you can watch the sun rise with a cup... More

Just got back from 4 nights at the San Cassiano hotel and I can't rave about it enough. The location is perfect.... on the Grand Canal (we arrived by water taxi from the airport straight to the Hotels landing stage - felt like royalty!), it's a 5 min walk from the hotel to the Rialto bridge and about 15 mins... Magnificently situated on the Grand Canal, the water taxi drops you off practically in the bar to enjoy your first Spritz - and the first drink is on the house ! Our room, on the ground floor so that we didn't have to climb the steep staircases (no elevator), was comfortable in a very Venetian fashion, in fact the whole... More

Wonderful historic building and former home of artist Favretto. I had a small single room on the top floor, overlooking the side canal. It was decorated in the same period style as elsewhere in the hotel. Free security safe and wifi. About 5-10 mins walk from San Stae vaporetto/alialaguna stop. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Delightful breakfast room with... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
