Good location only 5 mins from San Stae vaporetto stop, with only 3 small bridges to take luggage over. The hotel generously emailed a map when asked - vital as hotel would have been a little difficult to find - but a great location on the Grand Canal with a balcony from the breakfast room and one near the bar... Paying the extra for the 3rd floor Grand Canal view was well worth it! Pics attached are of the room and the view from the room (overlooking the Grand Canal) in Venice! Tasty (hot and cold) buffet breakfast! A little challenging to find but then again, Venice has many small (alley way) streets. Enjoy the journey (of getting there) and... More

My wife and I were there for 2 nights. The hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from the San Stae vaporetto stop depending on your shape and number of luggage (suggestion: travel light). To get there you'll have to cross 3 bridges. It is not that easy to find even with Google map coupled with jet lag. Once there we... More

All I can say is Great room, location, and the staff was great, best breakfast that I have had on my trip. Sitting on the Grand Canal was the best. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, easy walking distance to The Rialto Bridge, and St. Marks Square.

The location of this hotel is perfect and the hotel itself is very charming. When we checked in and were taken to our room we saw that it was right next to the kitchen. I immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved due to the morning noise. The older gentlemen at the desk said "believe me... More

We stayed here for five nights in October and appreciated the hotel's beautiful setting on the Grand Canal and its ornately decorated interior. Our room was also comfortable and well maintained by the hardworking housekeeping staff. But for the really rather substantial price that we paid for our stay we were disappointed by the very modest hotel facilities on offer.... More

This was my first time in Venice so I read every review I could on loads of hotels & this one had the best reviews for my price range. Great hotel in between train station & the hub of Venice. This hotel was in a quitter area which I definitely like and right on the grand canal. The staff were... More

This 4 star hotel is in a very good location. It's convenient for all sightseeing and vaporetto stop etc. and has a large selection of restaurants nearby. The decor is of a high standard in Venetian style. However, the fact that it has no lift is not highlighted. There are very steep stairs to the upper bedrooms. For a 4... More

Dear Sir/Madame, thanks for the review. Our Hotel, as you've seen, it's very old historical building from 14th century and it's almost impossible to touch it but we're trying to see if we can build it a lift but it's not going to be very easy. We are always trying to make breakfast better and better and seeing other reviews... More

Venice is magical and this is a perfect villa to enjoy while visiting! Our room was elegant and spacious, with very comfortable beds. It was in a very quiet area located on a canal, everything within walking distance, or a quick boat ride away. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was outstanding, and there is a lounge... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
