Really wonderful small luxury hotel. Location is simply incredible, just steps away from Piazza San Marco and in the middle of all the action. Staff and service was excellent. Room was quite small, but very elegant and completely expected given historic nature of the building. Overall, one of my favorite hotels in Venice.

Situated in the heart of Venice in an old city palace this hotel convinced with its amazing service and food. The Junior Suite was really spacious, exceptionally clean and very cozy. However, due to its location it was relatively dark in the room. Although I really liked the room itself, the bathroom was simply amazing and looked brand new. It...

The location of this Hotel is perfect. The room is a little bit small but the bathroom is large and new. The breakfast they serve is amazing. Don't use their transfer they charge double of the real price. But I totally recomend this hotel .

We arrived by water taxi after a lengthy international flight, and appreciated the efficient check-in. The room was Venetian in decor, with a very comfortable bed, lovely linens and a roomy bathroom. The restaurant was closed so we ate in the bar and the service was excellent. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety including turkey which was a treat!...

I just saw the review title from Simonkaka and decided that was our experience exactly. Now to be clear we were only in this hotel one evening, arriving late and then left the next day. We arrived around midnight and the check in was smooth, the check-in clerk behind the desk a little brusk but hey, it was midnight. The...

Chose the Luna from the LHW site because of the location, and was delighted to discover that it was even better than expected. We used the hotel transfer service from the airport, missing the atmospheric approach to Venice across the lagoon for the sake of the convenience of an escorted transfer. We did however return across the lagoon, seeing Venice...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
