We have just returned from ten days in Rome, Florence and Venice. We stayed for three nights in all three cities with the final night in a hotel. The Romite apartment at Wenicevenice, was far and away the best place we stayed. The owner, Carlo, was very helpful and his directions for pickup upon arrival were perfect. When we returned...

This apartment is AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about it! My husband and I stayed here in October 2014 and we had such a wonderful time. The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood in Venice, within close proximity to many delicious cafes and little markets. It is very spacious, with 2 bedrooms, a large living room, and...

We rented the San Trovaso apartment for 6 nights in May. The apartment was quite comfortable and finding it was easy as Carlo met us at the Ca'Rezzonico stop and walked us to it. He gave us great suggestions on where to eat and how to get around and then left us on our own to explore. I would definitely...

We rented the Romite and enjoyed it very much. We now have some fond memories of staying in one of the most appealing neighbourhoods in all of Venice, that of the S. Barnaba area down to the Zattere waterfront. It works on so many levels: proximity to Billa supermarket and also the smaller Punta Sma one in Campo S. Margherita;...

These large, spacious apartments were perfect for a week-log stay in Venice. The owner was very helpful, suggesting places to see, and the location (on the Dorsoduro) is just outside of main tourist areas enough that you can appreciate the city. The apartments are sparkly furnished, but the antiquity of the building has been preserved, with gorgeous roof beams and...

The apartment is big. It has a wonderful view of a courtyard. Please see my pictures. The rooms are...

The units are over 500 years old and their BRAND NEW again! We stayed in the "Turchette" Apartment, check it out below. http://www.wenicevenice.it/ The owners, (a bunch of brothers) fixed these Apartments up from ground floor to the unit we stayed in on the 4th floor. Counting the ground floors "grandmother suite", there are 4 units total. To start, the...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wenicevenice offers three holiday apartments let by the owner in Venice, Italy. The peaceful district of Dorsoduro is the best place to start discovering this wonderful town; everything is at walking distance: groceries, fish and vegetable market, two supermarkets and small, superb (but not overpriced!) restaurants often chosen by local people too. The beautiful Rio de le Romite canal faces our building. Secret and quiet gardens are on the back, an additional bonus you'll love to see from your windows! ... more   less
