I was very happy to stay here. It was clean and spacious. Our room had two bedrooms, two full baths. a walk in closet in the smaller bedroom, and a kitchen/common room. It was well kept and being in the off travel season the price...More
Our 2 nights at Al Bailo were a highlight. The 2 bedroom apt had lots of room for 5 with a huge loft and another seperate bedroom, living room areas and a kitchen. Location was close to everything but nicely out of the way of...More
A clean, well-appointed apartment close to all main attractions and very reasonably priced. Emma was very helpful and organised all transfers. The welcome basket was a very nice touch and came in handy. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
I unfortunately did not recover my bag in Venice airport -- it apparently was lost in Amsterdam in transfer. I was heading off to a cruise following my stay.
Veronica from Al Bailo di Venezia was truly unbelievable - she went above and beyond. Of...More
An excellent spot to access all the main tourist spots but far enough away to be in one of the quieter areas. Rooms are spacious, clean and well kept however both our bed and dishwasher did not work when arrived. Bed fixed promptly.

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

We stayed in the one bedroom with canal view. It was on the second floor. I think the two bedroom with balcony is on the first floor below our apartment. It was absolutely fine, pretty much as on photos. Plenty of space which I think is a premium in Venice. Taking the Ali Laguna to Ospedale and following google walking directions gets you there in about 6 minutes and takes half an hour off the boat trip which is a bit tediously slow. There is a handy supermarket about 2 minutes walk away across the square in front of Al Bailo, then right and left. Directions on map provided.

The grocery store is about a 5 minute walkfrom the apartment. We ate breakfast in. We had lovely fresh bread and buns and cold meats and cheese, a European breakfast. There is a coffeemaker in the apartment although it is quite small and makes the European Coffee. Very strong but good. The apartment supplies some coffee, sugar and a few other goodies too.
Wonderful location , wonderful apartment and staff.
