An excellent spot to access all the main tourist spots but far enough away to be in one of the quieter areas. Rooms are spacious, clean and well kept however both our bed and dishwasher did not work when arrived. Bed fixed promptly.
We were a group of 8 adults age 30 through 81 and the location of Al Bailo di Venezia proved to be an excellent choice for accesability to all the sights of Venice, The staff, Veronica and Gessica were very helpful with information and the...More
The location is superb! it is located at the quieter side of the city center and steps away from all the shops and restaurants. Spacious and clean. We were traveling as a couple but the one bedroom apartment is probably big enough for a family...More
Our family stayed two nights at this charming hotel on a lovely canal. The best part of the roomy,a/c,apartment was the balcony overlooking the canal and walkway below. We sipped wine and people watched after a day of wandering and site seeing. Lots of locals...More
We were blown away by the 2 bedroom apartment in a beautiful location about 15 mins walk from St Marks square. Modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. There were 2 bathrooms which had double wide showers and one also had a bath. Very...More
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

On the "how easy to get to from the airport" >> If you are willing to take a water taxi (around 60 euro I think - and the hotel will arrange it for you if you like) - it could not be simpler. Taxi will pick you up at the airport and drop you directly in front of the hotel. For us - with all of our luggage - and after a long trip, it was a luxury that was WELL worth the price.
