We really enjoyed the hospitality of Alessandro who provided a excellent breakfast and conversation each day and he also provided good advice on things to do and places to eat. The apartment is located close to the train station and its easy to find as long as you look carefully for the street name.

Where to begin :) you shouldn't go to Venice without staying with Alessandro and Gina! Alessandro couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay and it really did feel like a home away from home!! We had an amazing time and Alessandro even cooked for us one evening, which was a fantastic bonus to our visit, because his cooking is...

Alessandro is such a wonderful host to have! I can't believe how much I've actually done & seen WITHOUT HASTE AND AT EASE during my short stay in the labyrinth Venice. There is so much to choose from in Venice and they might look close but actually not, that you would NEED an insider for suggestions and alternatives. Ales is...

We stayed here in September last and found Alessandro to be a wonderful host. He advised where to eat, where to go and generally the best places in Venice - all of which was great advice. I would recommend this B&B to independent travellers. Breakfasts great, wifi great and position great. Alessandro was just so helpful and friendly. We would...

I stayed at Alessandro's great B and B in November for 7 nights with my wife. All the previous reviews are perfectly true. Excellent location for transport and the main sights; cosy and spotlessly clean accommodation; brilliant host who will make sure you are happy and enjoying your stay; fantastic breakfasts with little treats every morning; sound advice on places...

I had a wonderful visit to Venice & had the perfect B&B: Venice-BB-Venezia. The location was perfect - it was only a 10 minute walk from the Santa Lucia Train station and the main bus depot & main car parking area. It's on a little walkway right off the main path/road that winds along the north side of the Grand...

My husband & I recently stayed at Alessandro's B&B for 4 nights. I don't think we have ever felt that we were at such a "home away from home"! From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after. Alessandro got us a drink and sat down at the kitchen table with us to show us a map of...

This BB is in an excellent, central location with an extremely friendly & helpful owner Alessandro. Alessandro recommended sights, restaurants & bars, as well as providing us with filling breakfasts and other foodstuffs, and just generally being really, really nice. Would definitely recommend.

Venice-BB-Venezia is a place where one should stay in order to have a truly meaningful trip in Venice! Alessandro was very friendly and helpful; he gave lots of tips on where to eat and what to see. Gina, his 4-legged girlfriend, was a gem! Breakfast was so delicious esp the scramble eggs with potatoes! After we left Venice, we started...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Venice-BB-Venezia is a small and comfortable b&b located on the second floor of a historic 15th century building in the very center of Venice, where you will experience an authentic Venetian lifestyle in the true spirit of bed and breakfast. Nestled in a quiet garden, Venice-BB-Venezia is located in the Cannaregio sestiere, between the Ponte delle Guglie (Spires Bridge), the famous Casino and the Ghetto vecchio (old Jewish Ghetto), a short walk to Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) and Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), and in close proximity to a colourful green market. We can be easily reached from Venice's main arrival terminal: train station (Santa Lucia), bus station (Piazzale Roma) or car parking (Tronchetto), both being just a few minutes away. From the main airport (Marco Polo) you can reach us very easily by waterbus or bus. Alessandro & Gina ... more   less
