Hotel is not far from Rialto Bridge, staff are great. If you use a water taxi than the stop is Piazzala Roma and from there you can walk. If you have baggage they do have people with the porters with the ID card to take...More
Very happy to have stayed at a Venice hotel right on the Grand Canal, very close to both the train terminal and the nearest vehicle drop. The hotel rooms were a bit small, and had old-world amenities and needs updates, but you can't expect all...More
Super nice people. Rooms and beds are a little small. Great breakfast and location. Pretty pricey for the size of the room but that's what I get for going in July! Right next to shops and places to eat.
Small rooms! Noisy ac which doesn't bring any cold air! Outdated bathrooms! The first room they gave us was smelling badly! We asked for another one! Finally we got one with a somewhat renovated bathroom. What a disappointment....
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and a great location. The rooftop patio is nice for dinner or a drink. The breakfast was nice, and the front desk staff were extremely friendly! We really enjoyed our stay!

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

The Hotel is a quick water taxi ride to all of the main spots, and there is a stop close to the hotel. We had a junior suite with canal view and it was amazing! There is quite a bit of boat noise that comes off of the canal, but we actually loved it because it was part of the ambiance. We slept with our balcony doors open at night and didn't have any issues sleeping, and we are used to it being quite because we live out in the country.
