Just returned from a four night stay, the hotel is situated in a great place, just a 2 minute walk from St Mark's Square, plenty of restaurant's and bars nearby.

Great location - just a minute stroll from from Piazza San Marco! Wander the square, see the Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the library, Correr museum & look out at the lagoon, just moments after leaving your hotel. So close to all the action, but tucked...More
We stayed for 4 nights. After long exhausting days venturing the town, it was comforting to go back to a tranquil room. The room service and hospitality was second to none. Considering how close the hotels location to St Marks, the price was perfect for...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

I can't recall whether the main hotel has an elevator or not. You'll need to check with them. If you're located in the annexe next door to the hotel then, no it doesn't. The stairs are quite steep and you need to be fit particularly if you're located the upper floors.

We used the water taxi which was organised for us by the Hotel. They fetched us at the Harbour by car, took us to the water taxi which in turn took us to the front door of the hotel. It was a lovely way to see a small part of Venice and to get your bearings.
