Great location only two minutes walk from Piazza S.Marco, in sight of the Ponte dei Sospiri and a short walk from the Rialto. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The management even upgraded us to a...More
We were well rewarded by reading the reviews! Fabulous boutique hotel in an extremely convenient position with really helpful staff, beautiful bedroom overlooking the canal and great breakfast. Sisters travelling to Venice for the first time; we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October. The staff were lovely & friendly and so helpful. The rooms were very comfortable; two of us drew a shorter straw with a rather small shower room...More
Lovely hotel in excellent location, we were upgraded to a suite which was beautiful.
Very friendly staff.
Enjoyed our stay here, would choose again.
Need to get explicit directions to walk to hotel if tide too high to allow water taxi to stop at hotel.
What can I say? Great location. We loved it. Breakfast was wonderful; especially the cappuccino. Staff very nice with a great restaurant recommendation. Loved it. Thanks Colombina. We would definitely stay here again

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
I can't recall whether the main hotel has an elevator or not. You'll need to check with them. If you're located in the annexe next door to the hotel then, no it doesn't. The stairs are quite steep and you need to be fit... More

The hotel is on an island in Venice, which means it can be reached door-to-door only by a water taxi from the airport. You can take a regular taxi or bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma, and trnsfer there to a water bus (i.e., vaporetto) or again take a taxi. Most of those taxis will bring you to San Marco, and from there it's under 5 minutes of walking to the hotel. Go under the big clock, turn right, go towards the end of that street, turn left onto a small alley, take the first right off the alley, cross the small bridge, and you'll arrive at the hotel on your right.
