Went there for my anniversary celebration. Stayed here for 2 nights and it was amazing. The place is clean, spacious and comfortable. In the heart of Venice island, everything is near by. 5 min walk to Rialto and all major attractions. Restaurants, cafes everything is near by. The location is perfect! Owners are friendly and helpful. There is small kitchen... More

We ve just returned from alla fraterna and couldn't fault any of it for the good price we paid. Great location near Rialto but down a quiet alley, plenty of space in the apartment and all the things you need in there. The owner was very helpful would definatly recommended this place to stay

We couldn't believe the awesome place we got for the price! The man who runs it was really nice and spoke very good English. The wifi connection was notably good as most of the other spots we stayed at on our trip were not very good. Fresh baked goods on your door step in the morning for breakfast was also... More

This B&B is very well located, in the close proximity of Rialto Bridge, and short walk to San Marco, in a very quiet alley. This is essentially an apartment, with a big bedroom, a separate kitchen (fully equipped), and a separate bathroom, and all are enclosed in the same place. The owner lives next door. Breakfast is simple with bread... More

Very pleasant appartment ideally located, only 5 minutes from Rialto and 10 minutes from San Marco, but in a quiet little street. The kitchen is very convenient and the fridge was already filled with all the necessary food for breakfast. The owner delivered fresh bread and croissants every morning, we enjoyed our stay very much indeed and would not stay... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
