The hotel was perfect for a few days in Venice. Well situated about 5mins from San Marco. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and WiFi included in our stay. Rooms were spotless. We were able to leave our cases as we had a late flight home at no cost. Would totally recommend.

We stayed overnight at this hotel, and it was lovely. It was quiet, and our room overlooked a canal. The room was decorated very much in the Venetian style with rich scarlet fabric wall paper and beautiful wood appointments. It may not be soothing for some, but I love that kind of character and charm. The staff was incredibly friendly...

Don't stay at this hotel if you are travelling solo. Had friends who had decent rooms. I was on top floor. All five doors in the landing has a door size print of Klimt's the kiss. My room had a small single bed and the walls here painted deep red. They had used a sponge to paint with so the...

Dear Guest, we are very sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay here with us, not as much as to leave a comment called " nightmare time". You have been in a single room which is of course smaller than double rooms your friends had ( as they were 2 people ), but the style of our furniture is...

The people running this hotel are delightful and couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are quaint and clean and it's located really centrally next to the opera but it's quiet and overlooks a small canal. Also rare to find single or twin rooms in Venice.

My daughter recently visited Venice and we stayed at Hotel La Fenice. This is a charming little hotel - the staff are all helpful and friendly, the hotel is clean and although our room faced the street, it was quiet at night and we slept well. They service a nice continental breakfast and good coffee. We particularly liked the location...

The hotel is in a great location that is in no doubt with it only a five/ten minute walk to piazza San Marco. The hotel is also served well by restaurants nearby with a range of price and atmosphere. The hotel itself is decidedly average. The rooms could definitely do with some modernisation or at the very least a touch...

First, full disclosure: I did not select this hotel. I booked through a blind booking site. When I realized which hotel I was assigned, I was NOT happy. I did not feel it was in line with the hotel that was described. I was pretty bummed about it for a long time and just a few days before I left...

Hotel is in a good location, a bit far from where we got down as we had to carry the bags all the way to the hotel, but when ur with family and with a group of 20 I will not suggest this hotel or the breakfast, it is horrible, the rest is fine, friendly people

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking some of you time to leave a review about your experience in our Hotel, however we are a bit surprised about the rating you gave us. It seemed everything was fine starting from our very central location to the kindness of the staff. It is really a pity that you remark only the breakfast,...

Dear Orenc1, thank you for leaving a review about your stay with us. Unfortunately this year during the summer here in Venice we had some days that were extremely hot, and the air conditioning system suffered a bit because of this. We will take in consideration your comment in order to improve this service. Our breakfast is a complimentary cold...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
