Economy accommodation very small. Bed not comfortable. Air conditioning not working. Too hot to sleep comfortably. Window had to be left open therefore midges/mosquitos caused problems....More
They apparently turn off the option to use air conditioning until summer. This would normally be fine this time of year with the windows open but we had about 30 mosquito bites this morning and I am dreading sleeping tonight. Also the safe does not...More
The hotel is ideally situated for central Venice and only minutes from San Marco. Very easy to reach being a short walk from the water bus stop at San Maria dell Giglio. Tickets can be bought at the airport information desk.

Three nights to explore Venice was about right and so was the Hotel Torino. Location was 5 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco and in spite of being in the middle of a busy bustling street, we never heard a sound. Ideally placed for exploring...More
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

There are several ways to get to the hotel, and it kind of depends on your budget. If money is not an issue, use the watercab. If you feel 150 EUR is to much, take the bus outside the terminal to the city center, I think the station is named Piazzale Roma. Once you are there, walk across the bridge towards the Santa Lucia train station and take the public water transportation to the S.Maria del Giglio station. From there, it is a 5 min walk to the hotel.
