Hotel Bucintoro boasts a prime location that guests love for its tranquility and easy access to local attractions. The staff at this hotel earn high marks for their warmth and efficiency, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere with an elegant nautical theme that travelers find enchanting. While some guests have noted the rooms to be a bit cozy in size, the comfort, cleanliness, and luxurious linens compensate, alongside the charm of the amenities, especially the lagoon views. Although there are occasional remarks about pricing and service inconsistencies, many regard the hotel as a good value.

It is very difficult to add anything original to all the very positive recent reviews about this hotel.
It is in an excellent location with lovely water views and efficient helpful friendly staff. Despite being only 15 mins walk from St Marks Square it was quiet with no night time noise.
Rooms do vary in size and price with some not that big but this is an old style european hotel not some impersonal hotel chain.
Indeed we stayed 3 nights with friends who had a lovely large corner room with big windows who on joining a subsequent cruise which included 3 nights at the more expensive Marriott Resort out on an island reported they much preferred the Bucintoro .
To be fair our room was much smaller than our friends room and with a small bathroom but all very clean and comfortable and with a lovely view towards St Marks.
Breakfast was good and included freshly made scrambled eggs , fruit, cereals cheese, yoghourt , fruit juices etc and lovely fruit tarts and cheesecakes.
As others have also mentioned we thought the staff at the Bucintoro were excellent especially Stefano on reception and the japanese lady in the breakfast room who did everything possible to look after guests dining not only in the breakfast room but also outside on the terrace overlooking the water.
We will remember this hotel and would certainly choose it again.

We’ve stayed in a few different hotels in Venice so far & this one is by far the best!
#1. From my research, a room with a water view usually costs quite a lot more & in some places you have a wall a few feet from your window, but it’s true that every room in Bucintoro Hotel gets a lagoon view!

#2 The staff here are all top notch! From the free upgrade to our room without us asking for it to the charming & extra-ordinarily accommodating Manager Stefano & the cheery, friendly breakfast staff as well as all of the other staff there who give the utmost, over & above service they can. We got the breakfasts included room which was fresh, quality European style as well as top notch pastry selections.

#3 We saved a lot of money on the transportation & tour of a Murano glass factory & even had our own private water taxi there & back.

#4 The rooms were very clean & the deep, comfortable bathtub was a refuge after a few chilly walks in the time of year we were here. Stefano provided blankets on those days for us to sit outside & enjoy the view.

#5 On the last day Stefano even gave us a parting gift which was a beautiful reed diffuser!

I may have even missed a few things to add to the amazing quality for our stay here but I certainly couldn’t ask for more! This hotel went over & above our expectations!

Hotel Bucintoro was excellent from beginning to end. I chose it because, as a family of 3 with a teenager, we could get a reasonably priced suite with enough room and a little bit of privacy for us all. Our son slept on a day bed in the main room while we had an adjoining bedroom. There were two shower areas and a a fantastic private rooftop terrace where we could look over to San Marco as well as to the mouth of the lagoon. The bedroom had a very cute porthole that you could open to admire the view. The suite was beautifully decorated and came with Roberto Cavilli bathroom products. The breakfast was good with some lovely baked goods, including some savoury options.

The service was great. When we arrived, they organised for us to have wine and nibbles on our terrace as a welcome. The concierge also gave us a fantastic meal recommendation when we explained the kind of dinner we were after.

The hotel is just across the bridge from the Arsenal vaporetto stop so public transport access was super easy. Being in the Castello area of Venice, the hotel is slightly out of the main tourist area of Venice (we are really only talking an extra five minutes of walking) and it just meant the whole atmosphere was just that much quieter.

I had to spend few working days in Venezia during these difficult times. As sad as the times are, considering the terrible impact on the people and the economy, it was also the incredible occasion to enjoy a private Venezia like never before. The town was almost empty and on the calli and fondamenta you could meet only the local residents and few deeply passionate and respectful tourists. The laguna and the canali during the day were quiet, like usually in the middle of the night. All the essential services were available but it felt like they were dedicated exclusively to you. The Bucintoro was one of the very few hotels that courageously decided to remain open and were eager to provide a phenomenal service to their guests. They do not have a full restaurant, but a just a cosy breakfast room that during these times they made available to the guests that ordered, for lunch or dinner, take out from nearby restaurants. The location of the hotel is great, the structure of the hotel has been fully renovated during the lockdown of 2020 and the all staff is very personable and helpful. The rates during this time are much lower that the usual rates. Although I really hope that the world will get back to normal in a very short time, I will try to soon experience again the private Venezia.

Why do we return over and over to the same place when we visit to Venice? Because it is so wonderful and answers every wish; perfect location, quiet, on the water, small very friendly staff, beautiful ship themed decor, great breakfasts, reasonably priced, just the right size hotel.

It is very exciting to be on the waterfront, not a canal, because the huge variety of boats that travel right before your eyes in the comfort of your room. We had room number 404 a corner room with great views of the sea and boat traffic as well as the main street to St. Marks Cathedral and Piazza. Since Venice banned the huge cruising ships of hundreds of passengers the waterfront has returned to sanity and the pleasurable activity of watching the sheer number of small vessels most in the Venetian long boat style sailing about on the shimmering sea. Also a bonus, the Navel museum is right next door to Il Bucintoro and a do not miss museum.

Besides being a perfect location, this very small intimate hotel has a unique decor of a ship’s interior, white walls and dark wood paneling with many old engravings and prints of ships on the walls. The hotel staff and owner are all very kind, helpful and friendly giving very good suggestions for meals and walks. You can actually see the boat traffic from the bed as you wake out of the many windows all around the perimeter of the room. There are lots of hotels in Venice to choose from, this one is unique, very comfortable and reasonably priced.

Dear Christine W, A sincere thank you from me and all the staff for the kind review you have dedicated to us and for the time you took to write it. We all realize that Venice is a very particular city, difficult to understand if it is visited for the first time: our task and our pleasure is to give (or at least try to do so) the right advice based on the requests of each single customer. We are happy to have succeeded with you and that you enjoyed the views that our Bucintoro offers and the true Venetian life that takes place around the hotel. We hope you can come back and visit us very soon!!!! Best regards Stefano and all the Bucintoro Staff

To say the view is amazing does not do this place justice. The hotel is clean and the bedding provided for a great night’s sleep. The location is ideal as it is close enough to walk to the main square but far enough that you have breathing room from the insane crowds in Venice and the noise. The view of the lagoon at sunset is a photographer’s dream, not to mention the Feast of the Mary’s parade for Carnevale goes right by the hotel.

The staff was welcoming, gracious and accommodating. The commons were neat, clean and well organized within the small quaint footprint of the hotel situated overlooking the water and a very short walk to many attractions. The room was tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the wiring was especially remarkable with many three- and four-way switches for our convenience. We left for the water taxi before experiencing the breakfast, but it looked delicious; they did provide us with an abbreviated breakfast for us for the trip to the airport.
The bartender was very polite and attentive to our requests, however, I would encourage additional training in mixology.
I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again if and when we return to Venice.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Bucintoro in Venice for two nights at the end of August. The film festival at the Biennale was about to start. Without a car for the first time, we did not want to stay at the Lido but also not in the midst of the maddening crowds. Hotel Bucintoro proved to be the perfect choice. We booked the corner panorama room. The views from all windows were like a painting of Venice and you were part of it. The large sized room is air conditioned and sound proofed so very quiet, despite its position directly on the waterfront. The buffet breakfast is excellent. It is a 7 minute walk to St Marco’s and the Doge Palace and the main arteries. The Carnevale area with its restaurants and coffee shops as well as beautiful parks and wide walkways along the water begins just around the corner. The hotel manager, Stefano Fiore, proved very helpful - and all advice was offered with a sense of humour! Before our arrival, I had asked him to book us water taxis for pick up and departure. They came like clockwork. His advice to change the location of our pre-booked rental car pick up from Venice Mestre to the Piazza Roma which is able to be reached directly by water taxi from the hotel was worth its weight in gold.
Negatives: We did not like the very high bath tub with shower. Personally I would replace it with a walk-in shower.
Cupboard hanging space is scarce. A few, from the period, clothes hooks on the walk would be very much appreciated.
In summation: highly recommend. Hope to return.

I stayed here with my Mum, we came to celebrate her birthday as she had never been to Venice. We were not disappointed. Hotel Bucintoro is a charming hotel with lovely cosy, yet spacious and comfortable rooms. Beautifully clean and with lots of little touches to make it really comfortable, bathrobes, slippers, large baths etc The views of the lagoon and down to the grand canal and San Marco are unbelievable! we loved sitting watching the boats come and go generally soaking up the beauty of Venice. It is a few meters walk from the Vaporetto stop so easy for transfers to the airport/station and also into and all around Venice and the islands. We also walked a great deal and St Marks Square is only about 10-15 mins away. The staff were so friendly and helpful. although there isn't a restaurant, there is a bar that serves breakfast and also drinks later in the day. We will definately be back.

Our first visit to Venice was about 25 years ago when we were on a budget and stayed on the Lido. This time (9-16 June 2022) we chose the Bucintoro for its reputation for good value and location. This time we chose well! The hotel is close to the Arsenale jetty (vaporetti and Aliluguna boats) and far enough from the centre to feel much less frenetic. The proximity of the shady public gardens and a street full of nice (if touristy) restaurants make the Bucintoro an ideal choice.

Add to this the unfailing friendliness of the hotel staff and the delicious breakfasts - what more could you ask? Our room faced on to the lagoon, though our view was partially blocked by an enormous private yacht moored in front. However, initial disappointment changed to good natured nosiness as our 4th floor room was level with the boat's dining area! The room itself was very comfortable - a slightly eccentric shower but otherwise lovely.

Dear Ian and Anne-Marie Curror, Thanks from all the staff for taking the time to write this review. From what I read the living room would have been fine, so I don't understand the judgment that is not completely positive (4/5): unless we have been penalized by the partially obscured view. At this point I repeat a concept already expressed both to you and to other customers: WE as Bucintoro hotel DO NOT know when these boats arrive, we do not know how long they stop and above all WE HAVE NO POSSIBILITY to make it move: our property ENDS WITH UMBRELLAS AND THE TABLES OUTSIDE Best regards Stefano and all the Bucintoro crew

They do not have a traditional bar, but there is alcohol available. If you wanted a late night drink I am sure they would get it for you. There are several fine restaurants and bars within a 10-15 minute walk. Hotel Metropole is just 3 bridges away and has a great bar.

Yes there is a small bar that will stay open through the night porter service. If you come out of hotel turn left over the bridge and then turn left down the first street there are loads of bars and restaurants open until late. It is in a superb location.
