The room was spacious and clean. They have friendly staff. Particularly the breakfast staff. Hotel reception was very informative when i need help about the...

We had a beautiful view of the lagoon from our room, lit up at both sunset and sunrise; it was quiet and off the beaten track, but only a short walk to San Marco Square. Best of all were the kind and helpful people at the front desk, including especially Gian Maria, Stefano, and Gian Carlo, with Giuliano as manager....

A wonderful hotel in a great location. Very helpful staff. The rooms were necessarily a little small, but had all the amenities. The view was great, and the price very good. I strongly recommend Hotel Bucintoro!

We couldn't ask for more. Fantastic view from our bedroom, amazing breakfast each morning, smiling staff...all 10-15mins walk along the water to San Marco's square. The room isnt big but the small details and quality amenities more than made up for it.

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are a little small but fine anyhow. Bathroom nice and great views of either the lagoon or towards st marks. Breakfast decent and helpful staff. Good location for the main attractions and handy for water transport. Arsenale to the airport 15 euros each. Shared water taxi on the way in is far quicker and less...

We achieved a good winter rate and stayed 3 nights. Immediately on arrival we knew we had made the right choice. Our room was clean, warm and immaculate. Breakfast was good (bread rolls always a little stale). There was though a good choice, Noteworthy was the very pleasant waitress. Location is a plus with a nice stroll to San Marco....

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
