Hotel Da Bruno is located in the heart of Venice, just a short walk from Rivalto. The hotel rooms are designed with traditional style and are clean and inviting. The service at the hotel was really good and we got tips how to explore Venice. The instructions given by the hotel after reservation informing how to find the hotel were...

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights in July with my wife. It was very clean and comfortable and all the staff were polite and helpful. We had a 'compact' double room which look out over a side street. Breakfast was wide and varied that would suit all tastes, with no restrictions on quantity. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location, great breakfast, decent rooms, friendly staff. Only small complaint is the walls are apparently very thin. Neighbors gave us a noise complaint for having the tv on around midnight at what I thought a pretty low volume.

Hotel Da Bruno is in a great location in the city of Venice. It is easy to get to from the train and bus station by taking a number one Vaporetto and then it's just a short walk, easy to do with a suitcase on wheels. Also easy to catch a Vaporetto to the airport for only €15. The rooms...

My family (20 of us) spent two wonderful days at this hotel prior to our cruise. Igor & the other members of the staff set us up the a wonderful dinner at a recommended restaurant (Planet) & then set us up for the transfer to the cruise terminal. The Brancani dock is very convenient to the hotel--serviced only by water...

Just returned from a days visit in Venice. Booked a room at Hotel Bruno the day before visiting online. It was the economy room ( 250 ) and it was ideal for our needs. The room was clean and is suitable for a couple looking to come and go! The service was great and the staff were very pleasant and...

This hotel is tucked away in a back street nr the Rialto bridge (kissing). The breakfast was outstanding. Very morning provided with the following as basics: crackers, biscuits, cake and tiramisu! Fresh yoghurt, fruit, cheese and hard boiled eggs... What more could we ask for. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy! I know I did - big thank you to this...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
