This hotel is amazing. It's located right off the main shopping street but you can not hear the noise at all. The hotel is on a quiet alley which blocks all the noise and traffic. The hotel comes with a charming courtyard where you can enjoy a nice drink. I booked a single room and it was definitely a single....

Two friends and I stayed at Flora because Carol always stays there when in Venice. It's a charming place. We tripled up in a very large room with a pretty skinny bathroom, but it was still a great home for 2 nights. The brocade walls and antique furniture seemed very appropriate for this venerable city, even though the main parts...

We recently stayed at the Hotel Flora in Venice. It is a charming hotel and our room was decorated in a beautiful European style. We loved the Murano glass chandelier hanging in our room. The location was very central as we could walk to St. Mark's square in just a few minutes. The staff were extremely helpful with directions as well...

The location of the hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The selection and variety of the morning breakfast was a huge plus. Our room, however, was a big disappointment. My wife and I were placed on a ground floor room next to the main patio area for a three night stay. The room was frankly rundown,...

Dear Guest, I am glad that you enjoyed our staff and breakfast, but please believe me that I personally took care of the matter in your bathroom. The furniture is old because I like to collect it but it should not give the idea of updated.....sorry if we did not meet your taste and expectations. You should know that we...

Stayed here one night while waiting to board a cruise. You can't beat the location, just a short walk to St Mark's square and flanked by shops like Bulgari and Ferragamo-- fun for window shopping! The hotel itself might be described as shabby chic, with old fashioned furniture, and the bathroom had a ridiculously small shower & sink. But for...

Located a short 3 minute walk from the noisy multitudes around Piazza San Marco, the Hotel Flora, in a 17th century building, is a quiet oasis close to everything. Rooms vary; ours was quite large and opened over the courtyard. The bath, though well equipped, was miniscule. Daily breakfast is served in a nice leafy courtyard. Tuesday afternoons Leon, a...

My partner organised this hotel for us & what a little gem it was. Perfect location close to San Marco & of course being in Venice, was within walking distance to all other sights. Down a quiet alleyway, you wouldn't even know it was there but the courtyard was beautiful. The smell of freshly baked cakes in the early morning...

We stayed at Hotel Flora a couple weeks ago and the hotel front desk/concierge staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately, there was no A/C and we had to open our windows as the room was stuffy. Little did we know that we would end up with over 15-20 mosquito bites each. I still have red welts all over my body over...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
