Close to St Mark's square . In San Marco area and just by the Grand canal. Stayed here for 2 nights . Comfortable bed and Clean room and bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful . Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind review. We are a small enthusiastic team committed to our Guests, taking pride in what we do. We are sorry that occasionally the Wi Fi is weaker than normally expected at an international level. Unfortunately Venice has not yet received optical fibre internet and as such speed depends on location and times of...

Wonderful room, great location, excellent staff. Only downside was no AC, and there was constant heat streaming through the bathroom. We opened the windows to try to cool down, which drew in mosquitos which feasted on us for the next 2 days. If you stay during warm months, make sure your room has AC!

Our stay at the hotel was very clean, comfortable and centrally located. The staff were very helpful, friendly and obliging. They provided us with information on site seeing around Venice. As we were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary the lovely staff at the hotel surprised us with 2 cocktails and peanuts. Over wall I would recommend this hotel to...

to start off, everything in venice is expensive, so that considering, Palazzo del Giglio is o-kay-ish. the hotel is around 10 minutes from San Marco square. it's pretty much right next to the Giglio vaporetto stop which means it's convenient to get around the city and also to and from the airport. the welcome drink - Bellini (a Venetian speciality)...

In a city where we were frequently lost, this hotel was easy to find, very convenient to the vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal as well as Piazza San Marco. Despite its location near the city's attractions, it was in a very quiet square. A nice touch were the bellinis and fruit basket we received upon arrival. The staff was...

This hotel is just a 5 minute walk from St Marks Square -in a straight line past the posh shops so you can't get lost - and is close to many of Venice's attractions so is a great base for your holiday. With a complimentary bowl of fruit AND Prosecco the staff make you feel incredibly welcome. Highly recommended.

We spent 2 nights here and loved it. I was worried that it was too far from St. Marks Square but it was probably about 3 blocks away, which was wonderful because it was very quiet and we enjoyed the walk past the high-end shops. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Our room had a view...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
