I heartily recommend this hotel, as a wonderful location, and a perfect way to explore Venice. I read a few reviews, complaining about the 'Continental Breakfast'. What the heck do you expect for the price. The continental breakfast was fresh, and wonderful. Coffee or espresso, made to order. Croissants, and fresh bread rolls, jam and butter. I am going to...

Friendly staff, central location to explore from, good if you just want to put your head down and get out during the day. Wifi not free, but plenty of cafe locations to use when you get drinks/food. Continental breakfast handy to start the day with.

I was very worried about finding our hotel in Venice after reading some other reviews, but we had no problem at all. Hotel Canada Venezia is located very close to the Rialto bridge and the water bus (vaparetti) stop. This hotel is very small with few rooms. Be prepared to carry your luggage to your room. It was a 3...

this hotel is very near to Rialto 5 min walk. 10 minutes to San Marco square. it is a small hotel, you don't need more then that in Venice because you will spend your time on the road. near to i tre mercanti best tiramissu and dal Moro's best pasta. but one thing might bother you they do not have...

I stayed here with 3 of my friends for 3 nights and would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a quad room and there was plenty of space for all four of us. We had a TV, not that we used it and the bathroom looked quite new and was perfectly clean. I was honestly surprised at how nice the...

We were here with a group, on a very good group rate I should add! the location is great but the accommodation is very basic. Request a large room to avoid being put in the broom closet! It was clean and convenient, but possibly the only place in the world still charging for wi-fi. No TV or wifi in the...

We have taken 1 single big room with four beds. It also consists of an attached bathroom. Room was pretty clean, though bed are not best. Had a nice breakfast in the next morning. Faster checkout. The hotel main door is open whole night and main site of attractions are within 5 mins of walking.

Budget hotel but still clean and bright. Family rooms are over the canal. Nice family run venue. Basic breakfast served to your table. Kind informative staff. Good central location, easy to find. Enjoyed my stay.

We have just left the hotel after a 5 day stay and although it is rated as a 2* hotel it it is a lot better than that it is only a 10 min stroll from St Marks square and most of the tourist attractions. The room we were in (room 17) was very comfortable you getting everything you need...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
