Locanda ai santi apostoli has good size room with wifi and ac and very quiet day and night. We had very helpful staff and good breakfast! Location is perfect close to ca doro vaporetto stop (no bridge to cross), few stops from train station. we stayed 3 nights, it was perfect.

I didnt realise how much I needed that super cool room and hot shower. The hotel is situated in a good spot, things were easy. Wifi was not working in room but I could easily go to a restaurant downstairs and get it free. I would return.

Spent three here nights in May, the rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Due to the age of the building most of the floors are are not level, that's part of the experience. We were able to explore the ground floor that's not used, and another floor that held an art exhibit, definitely...

Ill will be brief, this hotel is superbly run and the staff are very helpful. The location is stunning with fantastic views over the Grand Canal and just a few meters from The Rialto Bridge (that said it's not manic in the street outside at the time of year we stayed) and two very good restaurants right outside the entrances...

We were only in Venice one night, but this hotel offered everything we needed to make the most of our short trip. The staff was exceptionally helpful, offering great restaurant options and advice on how to navigate the streets. The room was spotless, quiet, and comfortable. The location was very accessible!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel at the beginning of may. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor of an old palazzo. It is a simple yet beautiful hotel with a gorgeous view over the grand canal towards the Rialto Bridge. The rooms are a good size, nicely furnished, the beds are very comfortable and have an...

Staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke English quite well. Hotel has an elevator which was so appreciated after a long day of walking the streets of Venice. Very convenient to vaporetto stop and many historic sites.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I had a large room overlooking the canal but even if your room doesn't overlook the canal there is a very large living room for all guests with french doors that when opened provide a canal view. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful, the service was good, the breakfast was excellent...

Great location within walking distance of all the major sights. Very clean and welcoming staff. Advertised bar and coffee in lounge but didn't see it, would have taken travel kettle if I'd known. Wifi didn't work in our room but did in lounge area, so no problem. Limited TV stations, so a radio would have been nice.

If you want a full-service hotel with bars and restaurants and concierge this is not for you. If you want a peaceful, superbly located, clean and friendly small hotel you should look no further. We had a double room at the cheaper end of the tariff. It didn't have a view and we knew that in advance but the main...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
