What can I say about Arcadia Hotel!! First and foremost I want to thank the owner/manager Luigi. My husband I went on a 5 week euro trip and this hotel was a definite favourite. Now that we are back home we constantly reminisce on our time there and tell our family and friends about what an amazing experience we had....

We loved our two night stay here. We had a very late arrival and were greeted warmly. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. Every staff member we encountered always said hello and were nice. Great breakfast options and has coffee and espresso bar choices as well. We loved waking up to the sounds of the markets opening and...

As part of our adventure ,of course Venice. The boutique,17 room Arcadia,in Cannaregio provides a great staff, a perfect location, away from the tourist mayhem, a great morning buffet breakfast, a combination of cold and hot,.Yes the rooms are small, but comfortable, and by Venice...

We just spent 3 nights there and it was wonderful. The staff is the best, extremely helpful in making restaurant reservations and recommending some. The location is great, very close to the Guglie Bridge for water taxis and lots of very good restaurants. Our room was very quiet, requested one in the rear. The breakfast is super and the lady...

We spent 4 nights in this delightful hotel, situated in the northern part of Venice, away from the busy touristy areas and about a 20-25 minute walk to St Mark's square. The hotel is just 2 mins from the Guglie water taxi stop, though. It's quite easy to walk past, as there's just a small sign and doorway as an...

Stayed in a single room for 3 nights and was very impressed with the decor, luxury toiletries and little extras like the robe and slippers, and mini bar that aren't always seen in boutique hotels. Staff were very helpful with suitcase on arrival (there is a short flight of stairs up to reception) and generally very friendly. Breakfast had a...

This is a great hotel. Best feature is the awesome location. It is also very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Very reasonably priced and the included breakfast is awesome! They also recommended a great restaurant, Pontini, which is right around the corner. If I come back to Venice, I'll be back here!

The staff are very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location and has very good decor inside. However the bed was uncomfortable and the walls are especially thin. On first night knocked on next doors room to ask them to turn their tv down at about 1130 due to hearing word to word what they were watching....

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Arcadia, a splendid, charming residence in the centre of Venice, is delighted to offer you a fine stay in the magical city suspended over the waters of the lagoon. The sophisticated elegance of this small but refined boutique hotel can be seen in its captivating and romantic furnishings, a blend of period and modern, with hints of contemporary color and an atmosphere born of a glorious past. The setting is a splendid 17th century palace that harks back to the magnificent and aristocratic age of bygone Venice, but the atmosphere is one of a welcoming hotel de charme with elegant, refined taste. The result is Hotel Arcadia, a perfect blend of East and West, contemporary color and period details. ... more   less
