This is a great hotel. Best feature is the awesome location. It is also very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Very reasonably priced and the included breakfast is awesome! They also recommended a great restaurant, Pontini, which is right around the corner. If I come back to Venice, I'll be back here!

The staff are very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location and has very good decor inside. However the bed was uncomfortable and the walls are especially thin. On first night knocked on next doors room to ask them to turn their tv down at about 1130 due to hearing word to word what they were watching....

We enjoyed this well-run smaller Boutique hotel as it offered a welcomed retreat amidst a city agonized by overwhelming mass-tourism and fighting off near collapse. The hotel stands for a different time in this city's history when style and sophistication attracted the land's best architects and craftsmen. The hotel chose today's best materials to fend off the onslaught of dizzying...

Loved staying in this renovated palace within walking distance of the train station and the Jewish quarter. Great restaurants at reasonable prices. Hotel is beautiful, rooms include toiletries, safe and AC that works! The decor is beautiful in the rooms, lobby and breakfast room! The owner Luigi was very welcoming and helped us orient to all the sites. A CHILLED bottle of...

My wife and I stayed here for a 3 night stay and loved this hotel. Our room was spacious, with king size bed and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was included in the price which gave a good selection of food with excellent coffee. Staff were helpful and very welcoming. Location was ideal and it all made our stay a very memorable...

We visited Venice at the end of March and this seemed to be a good time to visit. It wasn't too busy and the weather was warm and sunny. This hotel is in a great location away from the main tourist attractions but easily within walking distance. Lots of excellent restaurants and bars locally that are far more reasonably priced...

I stayed here on a solo trip to Venice and highly recommend this hotel. My room was gorgeous and very comfortable. Plush robes, complimentary slippers, top-notch toiletries, and the BEST SHOWER ON EARTH. And breakfast was excellent! The fruit - even in December - was wonderful. So many options, and the service was exceptional. I love the location of this...

Great friendly helpful staff, beautiful lobby and pleasant compact rooms. Quirky characterful hotel, clean and well situated. Good for couples - even our room that overlooked the main street was not too noisy

The Cons: Where do I start? For $300+/night, you should not have to pay for water from the mini bar. The walls of the rooms are extremely thin and you can hear every conversation from the neighboring rooms and the street noise. Our room was also near the bar/dining area, so we could hear the clashing of every pot, pan....

Dear Ms Coco, You are a travel blogger, thus I will be very pragmatic with you in my reply. I invite you to be more precise in what you write. Well, where do I start? 1. You paid 160,00 € per night and not 300,00 € 2. You booked our basic room category and you had a “double” free of...

This hotel was a good bargain for the price. It is a quick walk from the train station, which is a big positive when pulling along suitcases. We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was not awesome. Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Arcadia, a splendid, charming residence in the centre of Venice, is delighted to offer you a fine stay in the magical city suspended over the waters of the lagoon. The sophisticated elegance of this small but refined boutique hotel can be seen in its captivating and romantic furnishings, a blend of period and modern, with hints of contemporary color and an atmosphere born of a glorious past. The setting is a splendid 17th century palace that harks back to the magnificent and aristocratic age of bygone Venice, but the atmosphere is one of a welcoming hotel de charme with elegant, refined taste. The result is Hotel Arcadia, a perfect blend of East and West, contemporary color and period details. ... more   less
