We have just finished our 3 night break, room was small but nice, serviced daily to a good standard. Staff were very friendly and even bought me a birthday cake out with a candle on my birthday! Breakfast was ok, if you asked my husband he would say it was poor, only due to lack of bacon. Our holiday provider...

Good value relative to a generally overpriced city. We spent 4 nights. Just a room and bathroom - Served well. Serviced daily. Ok/Good breakfast - go with the espresso. Close to San Marco square and Gondolas. Save yourself and catch the water bus to Giglio - then spend your time getting lost in this beautiful city (without dragging your luggage...

We liked the location of the Hotel. The room is ok. Breakfast adequate. The people at the reception were very polite and helpful which is a big plus. What we did not liked was--- repairs were being carried out in the room next to ours when we were there. We came for a weekend break. On the day we check...

The staff is warm and welcoming, and upgraded us to a room with a view of the canal where gondoliers regularly serenade - marvelous! The room was lovely, small but quite comfortable, with a very modern bathroom - Italian bathrooms are the best! The colors of the room were green and salmon, brocade, of course, and we were able to...

Lovely hotel and great staff. Work going on in the hotel with drilling and banging did not make our trip entirely relaxing but overall the hotel and trip was fantastic and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return.

Nice location, in San Marco borough, a few minutes from Fenice, Piazza San Marco... From here nothing is far and can be visited. Rooms are very clean, people are polite, helpful. Furniture is in an italian authentic style. Ideal to visit Venice

Great place to stay. Our room overlooked the a beautiful church. The room and hotel was clean, staff friendly. Couldn't pick any faults really. The wifi was a little touch and go because of our position in the hotel, but it didn't put us off.

Location, hospitality and the breakfast are reasons why I'd come back. The rooms are rather small, not much room to move around. That being said it's great value for money and has everything you need. The staff were more than accommodating. The only real negative is the shower size. I'm not a big person by any stretch but I could...

Dear guest, Thank you for your review! Unfortunately you are right, our bathrooms are not huge, but we are renovating all of them and in all of them we are giving the priority to the shower's size. Our best regards! Rossella

This hotel gives you the feel as if you're travelling as a merchant in the 17th century. The hotel is quite small, as are the rooms and is filled with memorabilia, decorations, paintings and furniture. The staff is elegant and friendly. The hotel is located in a great place just walking distance from San Marco square.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
