Neighbourhood
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

We travelled there for a short weekend with 2 other couples. First of all the transfers from the airport: After lots of searching we chose HolidayTaxis to book our road and water taxi transfer. As we have never used them before it’s always going to be a bit of a worry but our

dear Vanessa, the room which has been allocated to you (the last in the category you have requested) is facing one side of the Accademia Galleries and overlooks a lateral street. about its surface, it is approximately 13 square metres. and it is not far from the elevator. any other questions? ; -) as already written by email, we have bigger rooms, which would have a higher rate. kind regards and we look forward welcoming you in September! have a nice weekend, marianna

hi Vanessa, answering to your message, being almost fully booked on the dates you will be in Venice, at the moment we can guarantee a deco double room on the first floor (high ceilings). if you book, we can add a note that - should something on second or third floors become available, we would move you up there. hoping to welcome you in a few weeks, I take the chance to wish you a peaceful and pleasant weekend! marianna
