The Hotel is part of a chain who claim to be "small luxury hotels" and I would support that claim. A large room with nice tapestries, a walk-in cupboard (or should I better call it a dressing room?), a nice bathroom - we had no wishes open. The Hotel is located directly at the Canale Grande and only some 50m...

This is a charming classical style Venetian hotel perfectly situated on the Grande Canal. You walk out of the front door and there it is. A ten minute walk to Rialto Bridge means that you are in walking distance of the main attractions but away from the bustle of St Marks and Rialto. It offers courteous and exceptional service, we...

My wife & I departed the Uniworld river boat for several more days in Venice. We book a junior suite overlooking the Grand Canal. It was a wonderful room with a small balcony that overlooked the canal. The location was great as we could walk every where. St Mark's Square was no more than 15 min walk. Breakfast was included...

The hotel is in a perfect location and opposite the water bus stop. The walk to St Mark's square was only about 15 mins with the help from a map. Our room was beautiful and spacious and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast in the morning was good and the bar in the evening was cosy. We couldn't fault our...

I think the double room booked was upgraded as we had a very comfortable seating area as well as the double bedroom and en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Overlooking a square at the back of the hotel which initially was a little disappointing but can't knock it for the price and probably quieter than being on the Grand Canal...

This was my first stay in Venice and certainly will not be my last. I chose this hotel from recommendations on various websites and was certainly not disappointed. The hotel is very small - only 22 rooms of which 6 face the Grand Canal. We we fortunate to be upgraded to one of those facing the Grand Canal the only...

Enjoyable stay at this well located hotel right on the Grand Canal. Nicely appointed in classic Venetian style. The room was small for two and adults and two young kids, but we took advantage of a 40% off sale when we booked and couldn't complain too much. Typical Italian breakfast with continental pastries, meats and cheese. Lovely warm hospitality. You...

Very nice quaint hotel right on the canal. Location was close to the shops and dining areas but very easy to get lost especially at night through the winding streets. Stayed for 3 nights at this great hotel in a perfect location on the Grand Canal. Comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
